Description

It’s easy with the IKEA Home smart 1 app and TRÅDFRI gateway. Use one setting for early morning lighting and music, another for late evenings and a third for cooking or working at home.

You can dim, turn off, turn on, change colours and switch from warm to cold light. Raise or lower blinds. Turn on your music – then turn it up, turn it down or pause it. And you can even control your air purifier to improve the air quality at home.

With the IKEA Home smart 1 app, you can also connect to Apple Home, Amazon Alexa or Google Home and control it all with your voice.

What you’ll get with the IKEA Home smart 1 app and TRÅDFRI gateway:
• The ability to control your lights and blinds from the app
• The ability to turn audio on and off, pause it and control volume
• Customisable settings, including changing the position of blinds, light colours and choosing warm or cold light

Overall very good, issues with scheduling not working consistently

Try to add a device, I challenge you.
Bought the hub and 4 outlets, which all come with zero instructions.

Eventually figured out there is a tiny pin hole on the outlets to reset them. Viola, outlet found. Eventually, be patient it could take 5-10 minutes!!

Or so I thought it was connected. It does not appear in the app, unless you look in the app settings where it is called up as a disconnected device.
By the way, you CANNOT add an outlet directly in the poorly written but pretty looking Ikea app.
Why?

BUT it gets better, when after 25 minutes the hub finally agreed to connect via HomeKit, I can see and interact with the outlet there.

This is a joke.
An expensive colour coordinated joke.
Avoid.

Not reliable. Not professional. Not ready for daily use.

The ikea skill between Alexa and this app keeps dropping every 12 hrs

Unfortunately, this new ikea app is not as stable as the previous (yellow one) for tradfri.
The ikea skill for use with Alexa has to be enabled every 24hrs which means every 24 hrs my lights do not work with Alexa.
I have also contacted the Alexa app people because it’s the integration between both is the problem.
This is only a new occurance since the new app. Previously for 4 years I had no issue
