Parry chain saws and battle brutes in this updated take on the horror classic that looks scary good on compatible devices.

DRM fixed, but iPadOS status bar still shows.

DRM is now fixed, well done. However the iPadOS status bar showing the time and battery etc still shows during gameplay. Please hide them, it’s just a checkbox on Xcode.

Astonishing

I’m in the niche target audience for this game as an avid gamer who doesn’t have a console at home and misses the AAA gaming experience. A couple of things you need to know: 1) don’t balk at the high price because this game is massive and worth every cent. It’s much larger than, say, re8. I honestly can’t remember if the original was this extensive but it really feels like an epic and never ending journey. 2) The touch screen controls work most of the time it they are not good in certain situations. Rapid re-aiming while moving is a problem which matters in certain boss fights, zooming the scope during combat is nearly impossible, and it’s too easy to break out of a crouch. None of it is game breaking but it does make the game slightly harder. 3) if you hook up the hdmi cable and connect a Bluetooth controller then you basically solve these issues and have a portable ps5, perfect for hotel stays etc. 4) the game is extremely well balanced and satisfying. I can’t remember a moment where I wasn’t constantly having to strategise to conserve limited resources and ammo.

Overall it’s amazing and I really hope for more AAA gaming like this on iPhone.
