Love love love

I think reviews must disappear after updates. I’ve def worked them before! This game is still amazing, I’ve played it about every 3 years since I bought it. I’m still can’t wait for the next game by you guys, I’m patiently following! Hopefully it’s still in the works! Anyway try this game, it holds up & has an amazing story, you won’t regret it!

Developer Response ,

Thank you :D We did "reset" the reviews once before a few years ago as a test, not sure if it was the correct choice.

We are definitely still working on the sequel. We posted a small sneak peak of the tutorial section for it, you can find it on our website.

A well-made game with an over-reliance on dialogue choices

The future-city screenshots are what sold me on this originally, and I was hoping for a bit larger world to explore. But probably a smart choice to keep the story fairly self-contained, considering it is rife with the expected sci-if tropes.

Much of the story progression is based on selecting the right dialogue choices, and then having to go back to previous NPC conversations and preening the haystack again. Not exactly my preferred style of gameplay. Also an iPad touch screen doesn't suit a few of the mini-games all that well.

Still, it was enjoyable to play through and would definitely purchase the sequel when it is released...

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the review, hope you will enjoy the sequel as well when we manage to release it!

I'm interested in hearing more about why you think the mini-games don't suit the iPad screen (in case those are easily fixable, or in case it's things we can avoid doing in the sequel (although there are less minigames in the sequel)).

Don't get me wrong, we also have plenty misgivings about the minigames, but from the top of my head I can't think of anything that would make the iPad experience worse than other platforms, so if you have any insight there I'd be interested to hear it. Can‘t believe I fell for this

I liked the graphical style of the screenshots and the reviews were great so I bought it.
But I will delete it right after this review. Could not stand it longer than a couple of minutes. I have never seen such awkward, cheap, wooden characters in any game before. Also the dialogue is tedious and really poorly written. I made it until right when the character leaves the hospital and gets home. By then I had lost any will to spend another minute with it. Absolutely terrible, I have no idea what other people might have seen in it if the reviews are even real.

Developer Response ,

Sorry to hear you didn’t like Lost Echo during your very brief time with it.

To address your points: The character models have never been overhauled while the rest of the game has, so they do look a bit awkward, but in my opinion it is a thing you get used to pretty quickly and doesn’t end up holding the experience back.

It is unfortunate that you didn’t give the story enough time to grab you. Not sure if it would have, admittedly it’s a bit of a slow burn and that's not for everyone, but in my opinion it’s one of the game’s strong points.

In any case, thank you for the review—except for the part that implies the reviews aren’t real, that part is incredibly rude, not only to us, but also to the many people that have enjoyed the game, and I find it outlandish that you were willing to write something like that after only experiencing a couple of minutes of the game.

Cheers.
