Been with them about 4 years with 2 cars (One car now) for myself and my wife - UK and Home Start cover. Fortunately never had to use them. Today the passenger side power window was fully down and wouldn't go up. We were meant to be driving from Scotland to Birmingham Airport the next day and through Storm Eowyn, with up to 90mph winds and rain expected in Scotland. After 15 minutes on the phone they said it wasn't a breakdown, nor an emergency and so we weren't covered. They advised us to take it to a local garage. I told them that was unacceptable, and that their 'exclusion' wasn't stated in their list of exclusions on the policy. We won't be using them again.

Renewed a policy for my car that was over 15 year old when Autoaid do not provide cover for vehicles older than 15 years. When I looked at the terms and conditions, realising that they were renewing a policy that didn't cover my car I cancelled the policy. This was less than 24 hours after the policy had renewed. They then send a letter cancelling the policy but withholding a whopping 33% of the cost of the policy. I complained to the underwriters, Right Choice Insurance Brokers Ltd and received a lengthy rambling, factually incorrect letter upholding their decision not to refund the entire cost of the policy. I have escalated the matter to the Ombudsman and I will update on the outcome

My wife and I were travelling on M25 just going on to M1 on Blunts Lane when my rear drivers side tyre burst.
Got onto hard shoulder only to find tyre ripped open.
Thank god it had a hard sho
ulder and wasn’t a stupid smart motorway.
Called recovery they were great said they would sort recovery 5 minutes later garage phoned said on our way within half hour he was there picked up my car took me to services changed the wheel over nice chap polite and was very attentive to our safety on the motorway.
During this time auto aid rang me 3 times to make sure we were ok and safe.
So great to see a company actually do it and do it well.
People are quick to moan in this day and age but a thank you is also required in life.
So thanks for your help and recovery company we’re great
Thanks
Martin Amanda

I have been with Autoaid for nearly 18 months and recently had to call out them out for the first time. They answered the call promptly and sorted out the problem for me. I would definitely recommend AutoAid.

Beware - Unable to attend a breakdown on the A1???

I decided to try a different company to provide breakdown cover - than the big players - AA and RAC - who have both been okay in the past. I was aware of the excess for older vehicles as well. In truth it is a service you don't want to use. It is peace of mind. Unfortunately after reporting a breakdown - midday on a saturday. I broke down a few 100 yards from a junction of the A1. You would have thought that they would be able to get someone to me? After many hours I gave up the empty promises and arranged this myself. I complained, asked to cancel and requested a refund of the excess. They accepted that they let me down. And reimbursed the excess. But claimed they were unable to arrange the cancellation and return of funds. Advising me to contact a different separate entity. This feels like a scam. To claim that the company I purchased it with and the company that tried to attend were separate entities does feel like a scam. It clearly feels like an attempt to put off or delay reimbursement. I am obviously not going to ignore this and hope blindly that a call to a premium number for however long is going to get me a refund. Or, god forbid, try to use the service again. It's not as if I was somewhere remote or difficult to get too?

Mixed

Haven’t had to use breakdown on my car ever. Had a flat and couldn’t find the locking nut. Tried the app and had to pay £25 as it’s an old car but the payment didn’t go through. Called up and sorted it over the phone. Said I didn’t have the locking nut and clarified that on the phone to the operator and that it was the passenger rear wheel. She reassured me that the technician could help even with this. Waited 3 hours - no bother. Tech rocked up - obviously couldnt replace the wheel without the locking nut so didn’t even try. Called an actual truck who came in 20 minutes. Dave was a gent. Thanks

Great Service

I have had Autoaid for years and only had to use it twice. Today was just as before, Jake took my call and was polite and friendly. They arranged for a recovery company to come and fix my car. All sorted now and I highly recommend them

Well I have been a member for around 20…

Well I have been a member for around 20 years and only used the service 3 times which was very good the issue I have is back then it was great value but now my car is 16 years old but very reliable I feel to charge 21.50 or whatever for a 16 + year old car then on top of that if I do need your service I have to pay a premium of 25 pounds for the same car as it’s over 10 years old also 10 pounds for your partner. Back when I joined the company this was all part of the service now it all adds up. So to be honest I have only renewed this time because you were the cheapest option

Efficient Service at Competitive Price

We have had to use AutoAidBreakdown four times in the past 5-10 years. Each time they answered promptly and arrived within a couple of hours or better. They seem generally more focussed on recovering the car to a garage than fixing on the spot, but this might have reflected the situations I was in. Their mechanics are polite, friendly and efficient. Admin staff are efficient when it comes to issues with renewals.

Insurance is a strange thing

Insurance is a strange thing. It's like backing a horse that you hope gets beat! You pay your premium but don't want anything to go wrong, such that you claim a return on your money.
I've never needed Autoaidbreakdown yet and I'm hoping I never do. Consequently, I have no idea whether they're actually any good at helping should you have a disaster.
Notwithstanding, I'm very happy to have their cover on the expectation that they will there to help, should I unfortunately need them.
In the mean time, their premiums are very competitive for the service they promise. I'm therefore very happy to stay with them for another year.
