Have had to call out autoaid twice now. Both times I was kept informed. If engineer hadn't come by estimated time someone rang and gave me an update. much better call out time than AA. All the mechanics that came were very efficient and communicated well. Very pleased with the service

Been with them about 4 years with 2 cars (One car now) for myself and my wife - UK and Home Start cover. Fortunately never had to use them. Today the passenger side power window was fully down and wouldn't go up. We were meant to be driving from Scotland to Birmingham Airport the next day and through Storm Eowyn, with up to 90mph winds and rain expected in Scotland. After 15 minutes on the phone they said it wasn't a breakdown, nor an emergency and so we weren't covered. They advised us to take it to a local garage. I told them that was unacceptable, and that their 'exclusion' wasn't stated in their list of exclusions on the policy. We won't be using them again.

Renewed a policy for my car that was over 15 year old when Autoaid do not provide cover for vehicles older than 15 years. When I looked at the terms and conditions, realising that they were renewing a policy that didn't cover my car I cancelled the policy. This was less than 24 hours after the policy had renewed. They then send a letter cancelling the policy but withholding a whopping 33% of the cost of the policy. I complained to the underwriters, Right Choice Insurance Brokers Ltd and received a lengthy rambling, factually incorrect letter upholding their decision not to refund the entire cost of the policy. I have escalated the matter to the Ombudsman and I will update on the outcome

My wife and I were travelling on M25 just going on to M1 on Blunts Lane when my rear drivers side tyre burst.
Got onto hard shoulder only to find tyre ripped open.
Thank god it had a hard sho
ulder and wasn’t a stupid smart motorway.
Called recovery they were great said they would sort recovery 5 minutes later garage phoned said on our way within half hour he was there picked up my car took me to services changed the wheel over nice chap polite and was very attentive to our safety on the motorway.
During this time auto aid rang me 3 times to make sure we were ok and safe.
So great to see a company actually do it and do it well.
People are quick to moan in this day and age but a thank you is also required in life.
So thanks for your help and recovery company we’re great
Thanks
Martin Amanda

£25 excess for older cars!!!!

Have been with the company for years and could not fault the service until my last call out. When I renewed my policy I paid extra as some of my car are over 10 years old was fine with this.
I few days ago I had a flat tyre and had to call them out can't fault the service but the call operator would not contact a brake down service until till I paid the £25 excess as my car was over 10 years ago. Not sure what would happen happen if I had not had a smart phone! I did contact them after as I thought the operator had got it wrong by changing me, any age car can get a flat tyre!!! And regardless of the cars age it how well the owner keeps it maintained but was told as the car is over 10 years old they do charge extra for the cover and a £25 excess for every call out needless to say I will be now looking for a different company.

Lost in Fog!

Dec 27th, we set off from Doncaster, travelling to Bolton in Lancashire to see a Panto! Alas! Not to be! We got a flat tyre about 60 miles from home! In thick fog and on a lonely country road! But a quick phone call to Auto Aid and they came to our rescue! Sending a low loader lorry to get us back to Doncaster! But not just that, because they knew we were OAPs and lost on the Moors, they rang us every 15 minutes to check that we were safe, until the lorry finally got to us! We can't thank you enough!!! Xx

Contacting the Company and listening to…

Contacting the Company and listening to the options it was clear what to do and I waited only a short time before Tina came on the line.
I explained why my payment had failed and that it was preferable for me to pay an invoice rather than having a direct debit.

Tina assured me that this was fine and we then did the renewal in full. Tina reminded me of the restrictions like the age of vehicles etc. The matter was then closed and we each wished the other a happy Christmas. I soon received an email confirming the paid transaction and details of my cover so all was settled very straightforwardly
in just a few minutes. tina was very helpful.

Very happy with this company.

I have just renewed my cover with Autoaid. I find the website easy to use and am reassured by the cover provided. The company keep in touch throughout the year with information , suggestions and recommendations.

Incorrect information provided

I was contacted on Thursday by a lady about my policy and I confirmed I wished to renew. I asked if it was set up on auto renewal and she confirmed it was however today I had a call from a gentleman stating the policy had lapsed and if I wanted to renew I would have two days without cover. I am upset the original information was incorrect.

Unacceptably slow service

It took autoaid nearly 4 hours to get a vehicle to us. It was 7°C. I have 3 children who were in tears- freezing cold, starving hungry, and tired. They lied to us multiple times about the recovery vehicle being stuck in traffic. They stupidly sent us a tracking link so we could see the vehicle go in the opposite direction to another job and it was nearly an hour and a half after that before they finally made it to us. I will absolutely not be renewing my policy.

Best Breakdown

Good value. Reliable. Simple. No nonsense. Over the years I've been with others, i.e. GreenFlag, RAC, AA. In recent years my preferred choice is Autoaid.

Terrible company to deal with it's not…

Terrible company to deal with it's not clear when you take out a policy it only covers vehicles up to 15 years old unless you read the add ons section which I didn't bother reading as just wanted a basic policy, and this is third down the list of ad ons after adding a partner and adding lost keys. After taking out the policy and discovering it only covered upto 15 years (this is not also stated in the terms you read before agreeing, despite them claiming it is) I tried to phone and add older vehicle cover on, the same day, 2 days before the actual policy started, but this isn't possible, you have to cancel and start again, I then tried to cancel it, before it had even started (because the actual policy starts a minimum 2 days after paying), and they insist a £15 + £9 charge is payable to cancel, never mind a 14 day cooling off period or that the policy hadn't even started, so it cost me £24 for nothing, I will not be using this company again.

Excellent service

My car's serpentine belt broke when I started the engine this morning. My garage said to not drive the car as it would overheat on the way.
I called Autoaid and my car was on its way to the garage on a breakdown truck within an hour.
The Autoaid calls handler was professional & helpful.
The tow truck driver was professional also.

Autoaid Breakdown Recovery

Joined this company last year and renewed this year as they are first class. I have unfortunately had 2 incidents where I have had to use them and honestly cant praise them enough. Each time they got to me within half an hour and believe me I have been with all the other more well known companies who sorry have not been anywhere near as good. So if you need breakdown cover use these people as you will not be disappointed. Well done Autoaid.

Fantastic service

Had to use as engine management light came on and power lost 80 miles from home as we arrived at our destination. We had a mechanic arrive within an hour, but not repairable. We didn’t want to go home until the end of our trip 2 days later. This was facilitated by AutoAid with no problem. Had regular contact and updates throughout, recovery came on time and took us and the car all the way home. Brilliant service.

They don't respect GDPR

I obtained a quote for cover online, then went elsewhere after reading some horror stories. I clearly indicated I didn't want any marketing contact.

I was cold-called. I told them again I didn't want contact.

Today I was cold-called again and the caller left a voicemail offering me a cover discount.

This is against the law. One more and I'll report you to the ICO. I would now never get cover with Auto Aid because of their lack of respect for my preferences.
