CustomPC.ie never delivered the router I bought and paid for.
When I wrote to CustomPC.ie I never recieved a reply.
I wrote to my bank seeking a refund (chargeback) because the merchant had not delivered what I purchased.
The bank wrote back saying the merchant (CustomPC) contested my request for a chargeback.
If this isn't a scam then what is it?
Scammed Me
i ordered a CPU on the 24th of September they still havent sent it out a month later, terrible customer support with fake reviews, refusing to respond to emails regarding refund, changed whole site to say they dont sell components anymore and changed all legal info trying to rebrand.
Never Ever buy from these scammers, overpriced PCs as well.
Trust Big Sites and Brands they ship faster and more reliable than these liars.
Really great to have and Irish business for us to use. There is 2 cons, speed and pricing. Pricing is a little bit over the top but accepting credit facilities means excess charges and naturally going to cause a price increase but some components are €800 above RRP. Processing, dispatch and delivery speeds leave a lot to be desired especially considering it was a domestic order.
All in all the team deserve the business but I think they are two areas that definitely could improve, however it won’t stop me from shopping here again. Thanks lads

It is our policy not to engage with paid for Review Services and we do not therefore monitor this page on Trustpilot. We do however check in from time to time to ensure no customers had issues and if they have we do reach out to them and we expect this to continue under Ares. CUSTOMPC.IE ceased selling components and accessories on the 30th of September 2024. All custom desktop pcs , laptops , servers and workstations with warranty have been transfered and all customers have received new contact information to ensure they have even better support than we have been able to provide over the last 15 years. Custom Computers and Technologie Limited is no longer involved with CUSTOMPC.IE We would like to thank our loyal customers in Ireland and everywhere else and we would like to ensure all of our customers are aware that they have support from A.C.T. who have sent emails to all customers providing new support information and details. Our decision to cease selling components and accessories came from this being a service we started in 2021 to assist customers impacted by the rules change with regards Brexit in January of 2021. This service was never intended to be in place for 4 years. Unfortunately we had to cease providing this service after consultation with our core customers and we provided 120 days notice of the end of component sales. The transfer of CUSTOMPC.IE was never intended to take place in the same year however we felt this change would ensure continuity and better support across Europe and in ireland for our customers who had purchased custom pcs , laptops , servers and workstations. Component and accessory sales were reasponsible for less than 20% of or sales however 80% of our support tickets were from this 20% and this had impacted the level of support we could provide to the many customers who relied on us for support for their workstations , servers , gaming pcs and laptops which is why we took the decision to cease selling components and accessories. The opportunity to ensure a better level of support from our core customers came about as an added bonus and we could not refuse the opportunity given what this meant for our loyal customers. Support is still available direct at CUSTOMPC.IE and through the normal emails and we do not believe this will change given there was an undertaking to ensure the same email addresses were to be live for at least 12 months. The CUSTOMPC.IE brand is not part of the ARES Group and we expect the brand be taken to new heights by ARES.

An unhappy experience
Hi, maybe you are contemplating buying a computer from CustomPC – if so, my experience with them might help you make up your mind.
Briefly, I ordered and paid for a home computer from the CustomPC website on the 01/01/2023 and within 24 hours asked to upgrade two items – memory and storage – not such a complicated ask you might say. They did eventually agree to the upgrade and gave me a price which I was okay with, and I gave them the go ahead and said I would pay with PayPal. No PayPal they said – it must be Stripe – I said “ why not PayPal, I don’t do Stripe - can I pay by cheque instead - no comment to that offer.
I said I had already used PayPal to pay for the original order – but they said their accounting system uses Stripe. And so began a very frustrating phase dealing with the “support” people. Eventually after a few days they did produce an email address, and I did pay for the upgrade – using PayPal. When asked why they hadn’t given me that address earlier and avoid the hassle – no explanation. Such was my frustration with these people I totally lost confidence and said I’m out of here – please cancel the order and arrange a total refund.
Then they claimed I owed them money because the computer was at a ‘build stage’ – and cancelling would come at a price. The facts are, all this took place over the Christmas holidays and staff returned to work on 03/01/2023 and no work should begin until payment is complete – which for me was 11/01/23. Additionally, their T&C states that no contract is in place until the order is fully paid and a confirming letter is received – the day I fully paid was the 11/01/23 – also the day I cancelled - all in the same letter, and I never did receive a confirmation letter.
Bottom line is that 19 months later I was still looking for my refund – I even wrote to their MD stating my case – registered the letter –but never did get a reply to that either. I warned them I would take matters to a higher authority – which they ignored. And so, I filed an official claim with the Small Claims Court service and pursued my right for a refund – that was in May 2024. The details of my ‘claim’ were sent to CustomPC and they in turn replied to the Court denying everything. But they went a step further and claimed they had “completed this order 17 months earlier and the computer was shipped”. This was a total lie of course, and I never did receive anything. They would also claim that that it was a PayPal issue and nothing to do with them.
In the end I did get my day in Court – but I had to travel to Carlow . When the case was called by the Court Register on the 5th September 2024 – there was a no-show for CustomPC. Yes, they chickened out – never showed up. Like myself, they had been given the details of Court times etc. – but will find someone to blame anyway. I was called to give evidence to the Court – sworn in - and the lady Judge listened to my story – and in the end she had no difficulty awarding judgement against CustomPC.
As for my refund – I will wait to hear back from the Court services on that . If they don’t pay, the file is handed to the County Sheriff who is empowered to seize assets from CustomPC to the value of the refund amount.
So, buyers, if you don’t want to end up like me, do yourself a favour and avoid these people – if still in doubt read their reviews - and they don’t like the idea of refunding anyone. And if you do ‘sign-up’ as an account holder – which they encourage, then any refund can only be used to buy from their ‘store’ – so bí cúramach. (be careful)
One other thing – “If a PC is ‘custom built’ by picking from an options list – then it isn’t ‘custom-built’ for the purpose of cancellation – worth remembering if you get caught in their web.
Don’t be at all surprised to see a response to this report from Messrs Elliot or Brooks of CustomPC – denying everything and blaming anyone but themselves. My advice is ignore them, they lie and cheat at will.

Avoid this and refer to a computer…
Avoid this and refer to a computer technician/ specialist for a proper build. If you pick components that do not work together they will still fit them and flush that setup for a price well higher than it is worth. People keep having issues with their stations and the customer care. It says 'to your specifications' so if you have no idea what you are doing, they will use this to cover their house and blame you... because you wanted it this way instead of coming back to you with an advice as to what alter in your order to make your machine work properly. Hugely overpriced components and an army of unhappy customers.

DO NOT USE. Also trade under gameforce.ie or Ares core technologies limited. Located in Unit C9 enterprise business park Carlow.
Company name is “Custom computer and technologies limited”
I ordered a laptop in August. With absolutely no follow up from custompc. I eventually cancelled the order due to radio silence and now they are apparently gone into liquidation. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Paid money, no goods delivered, no response from sales.
Well I have paid for the item but have not received and have no idea of when I will receive it. This is all the more annoying as it was listed as in stock when I ordered it. No response from the sales team either when I emailed. You've basically ripped me off by taking my money and not delivering the goods. Utterly shambolic.
Just a note on the vendors "canned" response below which they tend to reply with on most posts in an attempt to worm their way out of it. It's all very nice but what about the 47.32 they took from my card on the 26th September, they have NOT refunded the money and they have NOT sent me any good and they have NOT replied to any of my direct emails to them. This lot are out and out con merchants avoid like the plague!!

Regret.
So, two months have passed since the purchase of the products and to this day I still have no response about the Case I purchased. They don't respond to my tickets, nobody gives me any information about when they will send my product, I honestly really regret buying from this store. To make matters worse, I'm trying to access the website to send more messages but apparently I lost access, I can't login or recover the password. Did they ban me?

Really poor customer service
It's now 10 days since I placed my order for a laptop bag which was shown as in stock at that time, this item has yet to arrive. Despite paying an additional fee for the item to be delivered via courier and contacting the company for an update or expected delivery date, I have had no response. The level of customer service is non existent. I will now be raising this through my credit card provider as a complaint.
