If you cant follow instructions on how to set this up from step 1 and be your own support using the website then lets face it, it probably wont be right for you. That being said this plan has been the cheapest and best I have ever used offering flexibility and value features that are second to none. I have had others join using my code IY4DD and with over 14 users joining and only 2 cancelling before getting our rewards , I would assume the other 12 or so are satisfied too! The bottom line is after a year of service and writing a few reviews I have paid under 100 dollars for the entire year using it in canada and the usa. That is why i am writing such a long review. There are too many advantages that other providers dont offer to get into. Check out their website for that. As for all the negative reviews I am assuming they are the types of people that cannot function without one on one human customer support

Don’t make the same mistake as me wasting hours of your life to save $5.

I cannot express how deeply disappointed and frustrated I am with Fizz Mobile. For over a WEEK now, I have been without
functional phone service, a basic necessity, and my repeated attempts to resolve the issue have been met with nothing but empty prompts and endless runarounds.
Every single agent I’ve spoken to has asked me to follow the same troubleshooting steps, which I’ve done meticulously, over and over again, to no avail. Despite spending countless HOURS of my time trying to get this resolved, I’m still left without service. And then, as if to add insult to injury, I receive an email asking me to provide details about the issue and the exact time. The exact time is all the time.
This all started because I wanted to upgrade my data plan. Instead, I’ve been punished for trusting Fizz with my mobile service. The lack of accountability, the lack of resolution, and the sheer incompetence of your support system have cost me significant time, energy, and inconvenience.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid Fizz Mobile at all costs. No amount of savings or promotional deals can justify the absolute nightmare of being left stranded without service and without proper support.

Watch out when you return the modem, we got charged a $250 fee despite dropping the modem at Canada post desk at Brunet pharmacy in Pointe Saint-Charles. We have followed all the required steps that fizz team shared by email (from label printing to box dropping). There is NO customer service number nor email where to file a complaint; they only offer a limited whatapp chat (box being dropped mid Oct - return number ref#PR276856)

More than 7 days to configurate a new modem after mine got dammaged. Very vage customer service chat answers such as "our technicians are doing everything possible" which is doubtful if after 7 days the situation was still going. Extremely frustrating. Nobody able to take things in charge. Had to unsuscribe after waiting in vain for so long.

Bad experience with the customer service - 7 days later issue is not resolved

I decided to get the advantage of the Fizz Internet service offering a low price. I paid for the installation by the technician, and made an appointment for Saturday, Dec 7, 2024. The technician arrived but failed to complete the installation apparently due to the provider's network/system issues. The technician assured me that "someone" will be in touch. However, no one tried to contact me within 24 hours. I have contacted Fizz via chat (the only means of communication), and also filed "an official complaint" via their website. The multiple tickets and countless chats later - nothing got resolved until this day - December 13th. All I want to do at this point is to cancel the agreement and return the modem. I have never experienced this kind of unresponsive and uncaring customer service. If you decide to go with this company as your Internet provider, think twice. If the things do go not as planned, you will regret your choice. The customer support is done by chat only, and it feels like I'm going around the circles with the robots. Very polite robots, who are very sorry for my troubles but not helpful.
I have my cell phone plan with Fizz and so far that was Ok, but I'm already worried if something goes wrong, I will be left helpless ones again.

Ditched Rogers for Fizz

I have been using fizz for about a month now and it has been great. It's a lot cheaper and more convenient than the other big providers in Canada. The have a good discount program and I leave my code at the end. The service has been really good in the Ottawa area as well. G1IJX

Abysimal customer support

I purchased a Fizz SIM card on the recommendation of a friend, and I received the card quickly. However, when I tried to activate the service, I encountered an issue that prevented me from finalizing the activation. So I contacted customer service via chat, but the agent was unable to resolve the issue. A ticket was opened on the first day, and the next day I received an email from Fizz saying the issue was resolved, which it wasn't.

I had to open a second ticket on the second day and followed up three times for news, still without a satisfactory response. This process took three days, and ultimately my only option was to request a refund for the SIM card, having received no solution from Fizz.

I am currently waiting for this refund. I would like to point out that the agents with whom I spoke were professional, but the Fizz company, for its part, does not treat its customers with the necessary seriousness, showing no real interest in resolving problems.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend Fizz to anyone looking for good support. This is unfortunate, as I am usually a loyal customer to my suppliers.

As a result, Fizz lost the trust of three potential customers for a long period of time. I wish new customers good luck and hope they have a better experience than mine, which was disappointing.

Edit: Finally had the issue resolved the problem was that the SIM card that was sent to me was not for the required service, they made the corrections to it and now the service is working as it should.

It was a frustrating experience, but decided to move forward with the activation due to the price competitiveness

Customer service is TRASH

Customer service is absolutely abysmal. The phone works fine as a plan but if anything goes wrong expect little to no customer service. Regurgitating copy pastes off their FAQ and not answering any questions or asking questions that you already answered a few times. I was told it was a human agent but the regurgitation of info I already said I knew was stupid. No actual resolution.

So in the end you get what you pay for which is a cheap service and no responsibility.

Poor support

Poor support, terrible process with numerous unidentifiable errors. Nobody seems able or interested in helping me - all I want is to sign up. Can't recommend.

Cancellation, early deactivation

If cancelling your mobile phone contract (with the required 72 hour notice), plan ahead for the likelihood that Fizz will cut off your service a day earlier than stated. They did it to us while visiting as tourists and it made our last days very difficult!

No star mobile company fraud..

Absolutely garbage..most days can't even make phone calls or receive them...internet speeds are comparable to 1989 speeds..and don't expect to hear a human voice from customer service..there is no customer service!! VIDEOTRON has a little scam with this company...indices new customers then steals their money...worst mistake I've ever made in choosing a phone provider...I can only imagine the people they screw over that have home plans...this company doesn't even deserve any stars but more so should be shut down by the fcc in which I plan to report them too...stay away from FIZZ MOBILE/VIDEOTRON....

Choosing Fizz Mobile: What I’ve Learned in 9 Months

If you're considering choosing or switching to Fizz Mobile, this review hopefully give you in-depth overview of the service, highlighting both its strengths and limitations. With the expansion of mobile options in Canada, we're finally seeing more competitions beyond the major players like Telus, Rogers, and Bell. Quebecor, along with its flanker brand Fizz, is one of the new kids on the block.

I've been using Fizz for about nine months now, and recently activated the second one for a family member. Fizz was new to me so I did some research before making the switch. Fizz and the company behind Videotron Quebecor started their Canada wide expansion outside of Quebecor in the fall of 2023.

Fizz do has several compelling features and that is why I made the switch to them.

Flexible plans with no contract

Fizz offers a highly customizable plan structure, allowing you to pay only for the features you need, including data, texts, calls, and even coverage areas. Unlimited texts, minutes and voicemail are $2, $4 and $1 per month, respectively. Limiting your coverage to only within your local province could save you $3/month. You can get creative with your plan, opting for a data-only plan that's perfect for devices like tablets or smartwatches. Another great option is the ability to pay just $5 to keep your number active if you’re traveling for an extended period.

Data Rollover
Unused data rolls over to the next month, which is particularly useful if your data usage fluctuates. This feature allows me to stay on a lower data plan most months while still being able to stream high-demand content occasionally.

Data Gifting
Fizz makes it easy to share unused data with others using just their phone number. This is a simple and cost-effective way to manage data needs within a family or group of friends, without the complexities or costs associated with other carriers' data sharing plans.

Network signal strength & Speed
Signal strength often depends on your proximity to a cellular tower, regardless of your carrier. In my experience, Fizz’s network speed ranges from 30 Mbps to over 100 Mbps, which is comparable to other providers I’ve used, such as Koodo, Fido, and Freedom. Use Speedtest by Ookla is a practical and easy way to figure it out.

As Quebecor acquired Freedom, Fizz leverages Freedom's infrastructure and extends coverage through partnerships with Rogers and other carriers, so checking the coverage map before switching is advisable.

Promotions
At the time of writing, Fizz is offering SIM cards for just $5. You can order online and it should arrive within a few days. Alternatively, you can get one at a local Circle K store. During the online activation process, using a referral code can earn you a $40 bonus towards your bill (credited after the 2nd month with Fizz).

Activation
Here’s a quick guide to activating your Fizz plan. After logging in, click "Activate my SIM card" and follow the prompts to enter:

- Home address

- SIM card activation code (found on your SIM card with 6 characters)

- Customize your plan (which be changed later)

- Enter current phone number if you are porting an existing one over to Fizz or

- Choose a new Phone Number (You’ll be given a few default numbers to choose from, with the option to refresh up to four times and find new sets of numbers. unfortunately, you can't go back to the earlier numbers after clicking refresh button. However, there is a workaround: log out of your account and log back in after 5 minutes. This will allow you to restart the activation process and refresh for new phone numbers again. If you prefer, you can pay $1 and enter the last 4-digit of a desired number, and Fizz can try to find a close match)

- Enter Referral code (Be sure to enter one during the activation process, as it cannot be added later)

Activation is quick—under a minute for a new number, and slightly longer if you’re porting an existing number. Once activated, simply insert your SIM card and you’ll be connected within a few minutes.

Final Thoughts
I hope this review has provided you with valuable insights to help you decide if Fizz is the right choice for you. If you decide to join Fizz and do not have a referral code from a friend or a family member, consider using my referral code ZKZCF to get a bonus. Thanks for reading!

I don't recommended Fizz

I don't recommended Fizz. I have been with them for approx 2 years. The only thing good is that is cheap, but the moment something is wrong, good luck trying to get a hold of someone. You have to type all your inquiries out as it's only communication through live chat. Their tech support is a joke. My account got hacked on August 17 two days before my payment was to come out I didn't have access to my account and the hacker made a purchase of an iphone 15. I was told by Fizz that I had to wait for their tech team to figure it out. I told them it was unacceptable as I only have 2 days to figure out how to get into my account and pay for my account so my number wouldnt get suspended. Their response, " you have to access your account to pay" and their tech team is working on it". I tried to find other solutions in order for me to pay for my account so it doesnt get suspended. This company does not know how to problem solve at all. By 12am on August 19 I had no phone. I had to go out and purchase a plan and sim card form another service provider and I had to get a temporary number as I cant get MY number that I've had for so many years as my account is now suspended with Fizz. If I would've listened to them I'd be 2 1/2 weeks without a phone because of their incompetence. They still havent figured out how to allow me access to my original account so I can update my payment method as I had to cancel my last payment method as it was hacked. Thanks to Fizz I'm now out $60 and counting and have no access to MY phone number and cant get it transferred over to another account because its suspended. They keep giving you the run around. Their support is absolute garbage. Fizz needs to train their staff properly. I dont understand how a company thinks that having someone go without a phone for weeks while their tech support tries to figure the situation out. Thanks to Fizz I now lost my phone number and cant retrieve it to switch to a different provider because, I have to access my account to pay in order to not have my account suspended, but yet I can't do that because it was hacked and they still cant figure out a solution.

garbage

Absolutely garbage ever since it’s plugged into my house. I’ve had Vidéotron hélix for years now never had any issue with it. Recently switched to fizz and suddenly the wifi won’t work same cables mind you. It’s nearly impossible to get any assistance with customer service. I get that this is one of the reason why fizz is more abordable but it’s just ridiculous 2h wait time to simply talk to customer support is ludicrous. I’ll be switching to bell in a couple days I really do not recommend.

The worst. absolute nightware

The worst. If you can't access your account, you cannot terminate your plan. I have been locked out my account for 2 months and even if I am moving out, they customer service (chat only) won't end my plan. I need to keep paying and bring the modem until they figure this out. How long will I pay a plan that is not in use ? 2 more months ? 6 more months ? This is just absolutely ridicoulous.

What a joke company.

What a joke company.

I had an appointment for internet installation. The technician didn't come. Then I made another appointment 1 week later and the technician didn't come again. Don't waste your time. I wasted 2 days at home waiting for the joke technician.

I transferred My service and phone…

I transferred My service and phone number to Fizz, and shortly after, someone else was sharing my number. All Fizz would do for me was advise me to buy a new sim card and change my number. Fizzed out.
The situation has been rectified, satisfactorily.
