Spot Pet Insurance has been incredible! I love how simple it is to submit claims and even receive direct deposit for reimbursement. The only con I can think of is whish they paid more or offered prescription coverage on maintenance medication. That being said, they have helped cover so many vaccinations and microchip. We had an emergency vet visit and they covered 70% and saved us from taking mounting debt to pay for it. I even received the reimbursement in less than a week.
I've had Spot insurance for three years now, and had nothing but great experiences. They cover more than most insurances, have a variety of coverage options, and process claims and refunds very quickly. I recently lost one of my pets, and they took the time to reach out to express their condolences. I have used their vet hotline as well, when I needed advice in a pinch.
I did not know what to expect when I signed up for spot health insurance for both of my golden doodles. Thank God I did because one of my goldendoodles is definitely a frequent flyer spot. Insurance has been a lifesaver for me truly, I don’t know what I would’ve done without spot insurance. They are quick responsive. I can’t say enough good things. They should be rated number one for sure. I’ve been with Spot Pet Insurance for probably about four years if not a little more highly recommend.

We recently switched to Spot Pet Insurance from a different insurance logo owned by the same company - Independence Pet Holdings - because Spot offered an affordable monthly premium for our middle-aged beagle. All of Spot's customer service initially seemed warm and inviting. Turns out they are just as heartless as you would expect from any private equity-owned insurance company who is just looking to make money off of careful pet owners. Just like many other pet insurers do, Spot Pet Insurance promptly denied our first claim we submitted as a pre-existing condition, but in this case, we have been paying premiums for years to Hartville, which is literally part of the same company that reports to the same CEO and has the same insurance underwriter - Independence Pet Holdings. So even though this company has been paid by us for years, and even though we have no diagnosis for our dog yet, Spot promptly wrote us off as having a pre-existing condition without further ado. Truly so frustrating when you are just trying to do the right thing and seek insurance for your family member. We are now canceling our policy and going the route of a savings account for pet costs.

It is important to have pet insurance and never needing to use it. Accidents are unexpected and the cost of care in an emergency is expensive.
