Been passed through atleast 5 adjusters, ignored for over a month, seriously no response even with an escalation. Paid in full to get a text that my insurance is compromised because their staff screwed it up by $20. Severely over priced, $1100 more than the competition for the same coverage. Having platinum insurance I was told we don't have to fix it, no replacements for windows, you get patches instead because it's cheaper. Lipped off by a manager because he didn't understand that a typical roof has two sides, and kept saying he is talking about my roof, not siding. Repeatedly I had to ask which side? He kept talking down to me because it's not siding - like i was dumb...no kidding, is it the west side or east??? I was then informed that i have to pay for my own inspection to catch everything the unexperienced inspector missed, no they will not be reimbursing me. Save yourself the frustration and stay far away. They are incompetent.

Hope they have zero star but no, they don't even deserve 1 star. I have TD insurance since 2005 and my car was hit by someone else and only right fender was hit and bended. Honda Civic has only 179,000 kms and they want to write off and don't let me keep the vehicle.
They only offer me $2000 less than the market price but dealer price are always higher.

They don't accept[t Autotraders and other comparable prices on the internet.

I will never trust this company. Even it was not my fault but because of them I lost my reliable car for very cheap.

Will never deal with these scammers. The scammed me and hit me hard.

For two straight years my TD premiums have been raised 40% each year, without making a claim. Today I changed over to Max insurance, saved 1k a year and they have a 4.4 star rating instead of TD’s 1.3 stars.
Your pricing is outrageous.

They increase prices each renewal without any reason! I am tired of those each year increases and canceling, + I don't recommend dealing with them and wasting time on them.

I would stay away from this insurance…

I would stay away from this insurance company they r horrible to deal with even with lawyers.
My youngest two children were in a horrible accident 7 years ago my was left paralyzed and now has to use a wheelchair, and has multiple Dr apt and hospital stays due to her injurys.
They make it so hard to get anything medical supplies she needs ext.
Unfortunately I am a single mother now, I miss so much work bc of the traveling we have to be. Insurance is supposed to pay milage ect within 30 days ya right try 60-90 if u ever get it. Even with lawyers case manager nothing happens worse company ever. We were in hospital with others that had children recovering from a car accident with other insurance companies they had no issues. I lost my house and everything I had at the time of accident bc they were so slow at doing anything. And I still have been able to recover. Had to move me and kids back home with my so we could have a roof over our heads it's so heart breaking and depressing.
They don't care u pay for coverage for what they don't payout or over anything. They want medical supplies billed to them then they don't pay we get cut off from the supplier and now u have no supplies and they are very expensive to cover knowing u probably won't get reimbursed. Either do I pay my bills or order her supplies well she has to have them so of course my whole pay check won't cover the months supplies. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm going bankrupt over this a second time.

TD Auto Insurance Abandoned a Survivor…

TD Auto Insurance Abandoned a Survivor of Domestic Violence

Women, please listen carefully. If you’re a survivor of domestic violence, **TD Auto Insurance will not stand with you.**

My truck was stolen by someone I trusted—a domestic abuser—and used in a hit-and-run. Instead of supporting me in this devastating situation, TD **denied my claim** and blamed me. I was told, “You could have stopped it,” and, shockingly, “Don’t be so cheap—pay $250 and take him to small claims court.”

These statements were not only dismissive but downright cruel. As a survivor of domestic violence, I already faced immense challenges. TD’s refusal to help added insult to injury and left me completely alone to pick up the pieces.

To every woman reading this: **TD Auto Insurance will protect criminals before supporting survivors.** Your safety, your recovery, and your peace of mind deserve better. Find an insurance company that values its customers and won’t abandon you in your time of need.

Stay safe and protect yourselves—not just from abusers, but from companies like TD that refuse to do the right thing.

Zero Stars - Avoid TD Insurance at All Costs!

I've had the misfortune of dealing with TD Insurance for over a year, and my experience has been an unmitigated disaster. Their representatives, including Charlie, Onkar, and Sandra Klein, have displayed a staggering lack of empathy, transparency, and accountability.

After my accident, TD Insurance took an astonishing seven months to service my vehicle, only for it to break down a few weeks later. Despite my repeated warnings about an oil leak, they failed to address the issue, leading to further breakdowns and financial strain.

The communication has been abysmal, with representatives providing vague explanations, placing blame on me, and failing to conduct thorough investigations. The final position letter acknowledged that no mechanical diagnosis or repairs were done after the accident, raising serious questions about the workshop's standards and quality checks.

I've been left without a vehicle, relying on public transportation, and facing significant financial hardship. The stress and frustration have been overwhelming, and I'm appalled by TD Insurance's lack of concern for their customers' well-being.

Do not trust TD Insurance with your needs. Their incompetence, negligence, and bad faith practices will leave you in a worse state than before.

I will be escalating this matter to the media, review boards, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and seeking legal counsel.

Difficult to cancel or get a quote for a new policy. No email nor chat support. Well, there is a chat, but now one replies when it says "an agent will be right with you". Long wait times for phone support.

Criminals

Hit a raccoon in April. Paid the deductible and had the car repaired. Then learned that their policy is to mark every collision as “driver at fault” regardless of the circumstances. Premium’s now going up by $1000 and I can’t move to a different provider since I haven’t held a Canadian license for more than 4 years. Criminal. All other insurance companies I have spoken to agree that the collision should not have been marked “at fault”

Told me I had no blame in a minor car slow collision…

Told me I had no blame in a minor car accident. Examined car in unequiped garage area for 20 minutes, asked me to sign document for them to repair relatively minor garage. confirmed car still safe to drive.
Led me along for 2 months, told me the damage and state of car (unexplained) had been assessed as beyond repair and worth scrap value. Totally fake.

Wish I could give 0/5 score

Wish I could give 0/5 score. After a serious accident in the US, months after uploading invoices, I am not able to get any info on the status of my claim, never mind a payment. Claims service is non-existant. Avoid TD travel and health insurance, its a fraudulent rip-off. I will take them to court for settlement

Avoid.

Avoid.. please read fine print because everything important on making a decision is not explained to you. Canceled my insurance because I got a better rate and was charged a large cancellation fee ( =2 months $300 ) and one month because I didn’t give 30days notice. Almost $500 to leave. Absolutely crazy. I’m sure you can find a better insurer.

Lies!!

Lies!!! Thieves!!! Got glass coverage and my windshield broke but because the cost of repair is under my deductible they won't cover it?????? So my car fails the out of province inspection. All told, I am out not just the added cost of coverage on insurance but the entire cost of getting windshield replaced. Why are they charging me for glass coverage if they aren't going to cover it!!!

TD can't figure out their own documentation

Had to cancel my auto and home insurance because after being with the company for 6 years with no accidents or tickets they wanted to charge me $400/m for a 2010 Corolla and insuring the contents of my apartment. If I had chosen to keep my roommate on my insurance I would have only been paying $320 for that.
Switched to another company and am now paying $180/m for car and home insurance so I cancelled my TD stuff and thought that was that.
Received a letter in the mail 6 weeks ago outlining the balance of my insurance account and after some deductions it said they owed me about $175 and that a check would be issued within 30 days of the invoice date. Checking every day for this payment and no luck so I chat in with them.
After 30 minutes of waiting for the agent to look into this they come back and tell me "oh, you actually owe us $350, but with the credit we decided to call it even, so the account is all good". I direct them to the letter and the document still loaded on my account saying they owe me and then spend another 20 minutes waiting for them to investigate. Well now they come back and say "actually, you owe us $90" which was the amount deducted from the original credit in the letter I received. When I pressed them about what happened they could only respond that the documentation was wrong, and that was it.

What a waste of my time. Would not recommend this joke of a company to anyone.

On home insurance renewal this year

On home insurance renewal this year, they increased my insurance by about 50%!!!
Their reasoning was higher than ever payouts.. When will payouts not be higher than ever ? After speaking to a couple people who's renewals were normal increased, I figure by next year I'll pay almost 100% more. Called another company and for better coverage and lower deductible, I'll pay $5 more than last year. They just lost a long term customer and when I spoke with them, they were totally okay with it
I will give them credit for hassle free claims process a few years ago however maybe this is their way of getting me off the books.

Car accident

I had a car accident where another car decided to change lanes and hit my rear left bumper. My adjuster decided that I was 100% at fault because I made an illegal lane change even though I was actually not changing lanes. No matter what I have tried to complain there is nobody at TD Insurance that is actually following up on it. Never again TD Insurance. I am beyond disgusted with them.
