Froze my credit card. Kept me on the phone for an hour only to tell me they couldn't unfreeze it. Told me they weren't allowed to tell me why. Couldn't tell me when they would unfreeze it. Wouldn't send me a new card either. Then the arrogant call handler tells me he's doing me a favour. They clearly think an average customer with an unfrozen card is a fraud risk - so maybe they want to lose their customers and have less risk, right? I'm happy to help them with that.
Avoid getting a credit card from MBNA. They cahrage you interest despite the fact that you pay your statement balance in full.
I have never seen such fraud and low rated provider.
Paid credit card in full but still got charged interest , now I have to pay interest on interest.
Avoid using these people.
Should be no stars .

Appalling company - unclear 0% offer and don't send statements
Appalling company. I signed up for a credit card which offered 15 months 0% interest on purchases. I am not particularly experienced with this sort of thing, but I have previously had similar cards with Tesco and another bank. MBNA do not send postal statements and they don't even send pdf statements by email. You have to log on to your account to see your statement, which I find awkward, as it involves passwords, usernames and an OTP, which my mobile phone struggles with. I knew what I had bought and I could see the minimum payments going out every month, so I didn't have any concerns, but today I have logged onto my account to check my available balance and found that I have been charged £40 per month interest for the past 6 months. It turns out that the 0% on purchases is only for purchases made in the first 60 days. Now I do accept that this was probably in the terms and conditions somewhere, but it was not not clear to me and that is not how other companies operate. Like almost everyone else, I read the headlines of the T&Cs but I don't study them, because even if I did, I would find some of the language confusing and unclear. MBNA do not warn you about the interest and make it difficult to access your account. I have now been charged hundreds of pounds in interest unnecessarily - I had the money in other accounts so I could have paid it off, but I thought I might as well take advantage of the 0% offer. The rate they were charging me is outrageous as weel - 23.9% and I am pretty sure that I have a high credit rating. I am disgusted by MBNA and highly recommend that people avoid them. On the phone I was told that the only way to complain was online, but on the website I was unable to find how to do this.

Terrible customer service from MBNA
Terrible customer service from MBNA. Due to password error was logged out of account. Tried resetting password and told I have to wait 7 days for a code to reset. Code never arrived. Tried resetting online again and told again I have to wait 7 days for a code.
Tried calling MBNA - on hold for nearly 10 minutes. No help really as told I have to wait for that code.

Horrible corporate American scum
Horrible corporate American scum. I’m not a customer, but my Civil Partner recently passed away. I’m trying to contact them to settle his account of £300, It’s impossible.
So I’ve tried, and I've been met by a dumb AI system. I won’t be paying up on my Civil Partners account. MBNA take me to court; you scum corporate; it’ll cost you more than it'll cost me.

Been a customer for years
Been a customer for years - current physical card no longer working and no explanation why the card details on the app were different. Being told the card was activated when I am looking it on my phone as not being active was not at all helpful. It appears to have an activated itself and then deactivated but no issues at the MBNa end. I Reset the app as advised and now I am being sent a code in the post. Useless.

I had a horrible experience with MBNA…
I had a horrible experience with MBNA that has left me both frustrated and shocked. They sent me a completely incorrect bill, charging me rates that were not even close to what was agreed. When I contacted them to get an explanation, they could not provide any justification or calculation for these outrageous charges.
The worst part? The customer representative boldly stated, "We can charge whatever we want." This level of arrogance and lack of accountability is absolutely unacceptable for any company, let alone a financial institution.
I spent over two hours on the phone trying to get this resolved, only to be met with vague answers, dismissive attitudes, and no resolution whatsoever. Their customer service is disgusting, and it feels like they deliberately make the process frustrating to wear you out. They have no complaint manager as well to manage things. All she said throughout the call was that "I am right"
I strongly recommend avoiding MBNA at all costs. Their practices feel deceptive and borderline criminal. Save yourself the headache and look for a more trustworthy company.

Appalling
Appalling - moved to new phone and they’ve locked me out of the app completely simply due to my forgetting the password - they’re sending me a code through the post that’s expected to take a full SEVEN DAYS, during which I have no visibility of my account for payments, fraud or anything.
Goodbye MBNA!

MBNA, STAY WELL CLEAR AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
So i decided to get my home insurance from MBNA, what a mistake. I paid an additional premium also for outbuildings cover. on Saturday 7th December there was a storm, it was all over the news and the gusts of wind were very strong. A neighbours fence was blown down and a tree in a near by field was blown over but to the MBNA this was not a storm, ok?? Unfortunately my 5 year old strong and sturdy Metal shed had its sliding doors blown open. This allowed for the gusts of wind to lift the shed off its base and it was destroyed beyond repair. You then try and make a claim under your policy which INCLUDES outbuildings cover to be told its Wear and Tear?? What a load of rubbish, the shed was strong and sturdy with no signs of wear and tear. They also state that gusts of wind that exceeded 70 kmph were not classed as a storm. Talk about talking garbage, they are just trying to wiggle out of paying so i will now contact the ombudsman and make a formal complaint. In the last 30 years i have only ever made 1 claim which was via Direct line and they were excellent. Stay well clear of MBNA however, they will take your money but if you ever need to make a claim they will simply try and fob you off like they are trying with myself. I have made a complaint about how they have come to this decision without even seeing the shed themselves and i will update this review once they have contacted me again, lets hope i get treated as a human rather than a number

Absolutely shocking
Absolutely shocking! Avoid like the plague. Cancelled Ellie Gibsons insurance policy despite her not making a claim (her stolen goods were returned). This has resulted in her being essentially uninsurable. Avoid avoid avoid!

Won't speak to you on the phone have to use the app won't answer all the questions. I think might have to use another credit card company which you can speak to someone as MBNA don't want to customer care is really bad

Awful Service, inconsistencies and poorly managed.
Awful Service. I called them after they notified me that my direct debit was cancelled for some reason. I gave MBNA my details again which were correct in the first place. they said that they would reinstate the direct debit. a few days later they sent me another letter saying that they cancelled the insurance policy even though they agreed that the details they had were correct. Conclusion: AVOID THEM. MY ADVICE TO MBNA: INVEST MORE ON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE CONSISTENT.

MBNA home insurance do not payout
I had an under floor leak in my wet room which caused extensive damage. I informed MBNA as soon as I noticed that the floor had become unstable, at this stage I did not know it was a leak in the ouflow valve/pipe, MBNA told me to get a builder to look at. I did this and the builder identified a serious risk of injury all the supporting timbers has rotted due to the leak. The builder took several photograps of the damage. I informed MBNA who were supportive at this stage and I proceded with an on claim. MBNA contacted me, I asked if I was covered by the insurance and MBNA confirmed i was. MBNA were aware that the builder was fixing the problem and no occasion was I told not to proceed with the work and MBNA they were aware of the health needs of myself and another member of the family to use wetroom, mobility and autisim. MBNA appeared sympathetic. I was told that I would receive a call from the their building department to discuss payout. This is when the fun started. The person who called me said that they were not from the building department. This person did not have a clue what I was talking about, she did not listen and asked the same questions over and over, clearly working from a crib sheet. It was clear very early in the discussion that she was looking for a reason not to pay and made it clear that she did not understand the problem, I sent all the photos and builders report on request. She then she told me because the builder had done some work and there was now no damage for an assesor to see MBNA would not payout. We have over 30 years insurance on the house and there has never been a claim against the property or contents. I will be taking MBNAs handling of my claim to the Finacial Ombudsman and I have contacted a solicitor. So, I hope anyone thinking about MBNA home insurance reads this and reflects on the possible otcome if they need to make a calim.

Took over 2k from my account for no fault of my own!
I raised a dispute with mbma due to not being refunded for one of my free cancellation bookings, they credited this for me in my account whilst they chase the accommodation company but then they got their wires crossed and withdrew this £2327 credit i was owed as they thought i had received it back from the accommodation company, which I haven't! So i am now over 2k down, no sense of urgency from them and no apology for their mistake. Really stressed and upset and no resolution from them. Been with them for nearly 10 years but after this hopefully gets cleared up and balance cleared i will no longer be using.

A Simple Request…
We are in the middle of moving house and ALL we wanted to do was change address, all other financial companies we deal with made this easy to do through their website - but not MBNA! Over 20 minutes on the phone trying to sort it (have they never moved house and don't know how busy it gets?). You can do it through their app - but we all know that's because they want to stop people from logging on using a PC - to make life easier/cheaper for them obviously! They think we're all too stupid to work it out!
