Overcharging

We rented an apartment for 1 month in Dubai. They had to come 6 times to fix and clean things we found around the apartment during that time. At the end, they charged more things than what was written in the contract (out of DEWA or Chiller), they wanted to charge us with the sewage and housing taxes from the apartment. On top of it, we had to make a second payment as our first one had intermediary commissions, but then when they paid us back the rest of the deposit, their bank charged them commissions and they refused to send a second transfer to fully give back the deposit. I do not recommend this company.

Life ruiners

I’ve missed my rent once in all my life. I was newly separated from my partner and seeing my kids once a fortnight. I became depressed and suicidal. I got behind in rent and eventually eviction notices were served. I did pay the rent though but lost the bond as they confiscated what I couldn’t afford to pay from it. So they got their money. That was 23 years ago. They told they wouldn’t put me on TICA if I settled the rent and bond details before I moved. I did and they put me on TICA anyway. I spent the next 14 years trying to get off it. Eventually I had to pay a fee and have it done through a third party. TICA for all who don’t know are a rental blacklist company that’s worldwide. They say it’s not but it is and everyone knows this. I’ll never write a good review about Raine and Horne. Sure I made one mistake, and yes I’ll own it, but endlessly punished for a decade and a half? WTH!
One final note, even after I got off the list, I still had mysterious rental issues. Finally I changed my name legally and bingo! I got a place.
The world’s completely corrupted, and real estates are not to be trusted. In fact , I would even say that their internal operating procedures could , allegedly, be possibly illegal or even unconstitutional. Who knows for sure?
Edit:- If anyone is wondering just exactly how long after 2015 it took to get a place it was 2019. I had to change my name and wait 2 years before I could get it changed on my birth certificate and use to get other I’d such as licence etc. After that it wasn’t until dec 2019 that I secured my first rented house through a real estate. That’s 2001 to 2019. Someone just told me life isn’t fair and it’s tough like I didn’t already know. But I do know. I know this all too well. I keep hoping I’ll find someone who will show some humanity. There isn’t any so far.

Raine & Horne Bankstown now T/A Wakim Realty Unprofessional and not complaint with the Residential Tenancies Act 2010

I could never recommend this Real Estate agent to any prospective tenant or ever rent any property through them again, for a number of very good reasons. They are not always selective in whom they rent owners properties to.We have been renting a 2 bed granny flat in Alan Street, Yagoona, through them for nearly two years. The tenants in the house in front of us have the same estate agent. They often leave rubbish, cigarette butts, skateboards, bicycles and toys in the driveway. The shrubs growing on the side of the lower part of the driveway are not cut back. Visitors to the main house often block the entrance to the drive way. Rubbish and food waste, which was not recyclable, was put in our recycling bin. Visitors often arrive in cars hooting early morning and late evening. They also installed a very bright halogen light in their back garden which they had on for no reason late at night and it totally light up our lounge after dark. It is blinding but that is minor compared to the excessive level of noise we are regularly subjected to. There is incessant high pitched shrieking, screaming, shouting and foul language. Toys and balls are thrown from the trampoline in their garden, which was 1 metre from our lounge, at the adjoining fences, smashed onto the driveway, thrown at our flat, onto our roof and at our car, which is parked at the top of the drive way. One toy hit our car windscreen and cracked it, causing us very expensive windscreen replacement. On two other occasions our car was damaged by a skateboard. The noise often goes on until 11:30pm at night. The tenants in the main house do not appear to be have been made aware of the clause in the residential tenancy lease that clearly states that no disturbance to other tenants is permitted by anyone at any time. This includes visitors and their children. This Real Estate agent did not make them aware of this fact or if they did it fell on deaf ears, despite our numerous complaints. The excessive noise continues to this day. This Real Estate agent did not find this unacceptable and destructive behaviour abnormal and failed to fulfill their legal obligation to address the issue satisfactorily. Their solution was to try to get us to move out so that they did not have to address the matter and we had to have it settled by a Tribunal, who found in our favour. Despite this, this agent is still in breach of their contract, which means we have to apply for another hearing. The only reason we have not moved out long before now is due to very poor health. This agent does not comply with the Laws written in to the Residential Tenancies Act 2010 and I find the manner in which they conduct themselves to be deplorable.
