Euroclima is the European Union’s flagship Programme with the Latin America and Caribbean region that contributes to an increasingly ambitious, transformative and equitable action on climate and environmental issues. Through bilateral dialogues and regional engagement, the Programme works together with the 33 partner governments of the region and relevant regional organisations to identify priorities that lead to actions that foster the conditions for a Green and Just Transition.
By strengthening the enabling environment, catalysing key initiatives in priority sectors and facilitating access and mobilisation of climate and green financing and investment, the European Union and the partner countries of Latin America and the Caribbean are setting the stage for the profound transformation necessary to collaborate and address the immediate and existential threats we face.
Euroclima plays a key role in supporting partner countries in creating enabling conditions for attracting investments, including those offered by the Global Gateway Investment Agenda (GGIA) and the EU-CELAC collaboration, to contribute to sustainable, green and just transitions that promote resilience, carbon neutrality and inclusive prosperity.
Euroclima places a strong emphasis on achieving ambitious climate, environmental and social targets, aligning with global objectives such as the Paris Agreement, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the Sendai Framework and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It works in line with the priorities set by regional and bi-regional high-level forums such as the EU-CELAC Summits, the EU-LAC Ministerial Meetings on Environment and Climate Change and the Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean.
