I've used Alpha many times in the past and never had to claim so cannot speak for any after-sales service. I've dropped a star as the website isn't totally user friendly and could do with some improvement.
Prices are increasing a lot and I may have to look around at other travel insurers in future to ensure I get the best value for money.
Application was easy to complete and good cover for our river tour. Nice addition of the free Air Doctor Connect service.
I have used Alpha a number of times and is very easy to sort insurance at very competitive prices.
I had to make a claim in 2017 and was very easy to sort out and was UK adviser based
My only concern is I have been told that when you now want to speak to them or make a claim it is all overseas advisers now not UK based?…I cannot confirm this
Having used them in the past and had been very satisfied with the cost of the policy. Both our medical conditions accepted at a reasonable rate and enough coverage for any emergency.

Worst insurer on the planet. If only I could leave -1 stars. They cancelled my policy after I left the country and if you don't know, it is extremely difficult to get insured (by any provider) once you have already left the country. So, by doing this, they caused me to be without insurance for my entire trip. Cancelling somebody's policy whilst they are already abroad, is just about the worst thing an insurer can do to a customer.
BEWARE of this provider!
(To add insult to injury, they continue to send me marketing emails to this day, even though I have already unsubscribed on numerous occasions.)
