Forgot a Christmas present for one of my family, so ordered from Charlie’s on 23rd December and it arrived on Christmas Eve when everyone else wasn’t delivering until after Christmas. They really went above and beyond. Would highly recommend.

The woman’s walking boots ordered for my wife for a Christmas present arrived in a timely manner and were a great choice. My wife loves the boots and are super comfortable for her. Have no problems and would buy from again.

Wouldn't recommend: Poor customer service & dated ordering system

Ordered several items shown as in stock on the website. Was emailed 2 days later to say that one item ordered wasn't in stock and the website was wrong as their system isn't sophisticated to represent actual quantities available in the warehouse. Was offered a refund on the out of stock item or a refund on the whole order. Asked for a discount to cover any shipping costs incurred from buying the out of stock item elsewhere but this was rejected (approx £4, 10% of order). Decided to cancel the order and received a refund several days after.

Christmas ordering

The issues I have with this company is that they are not efficient in answering their emails. Every time I emailed them regarding the time it took for a parcel to be delivered for a Christmas gift and then the condition of the packaging when I eventually received it, I had to send them a reminder to reply. I’m still waiting........🙄

exceptional value and excellent service

We ordered an arrifical christmas tree from Charlies this week. After much searching and research we had settled on a brand and style of tree which Charlies offered at an unbeatable price. Very efficient online ordering process and good communication regarding order status and deliver tracking. The tree was received far quicker than expected within 2 working days after order and I live in the north of Scotland which is normally an out of the ordinary route for most couriers. Would not hesitate to use again and have already recommended to friends!

Rude difficult staff

Visited the store in Queensferry on my own with 3 young children and after I got the children out of my car a 5 year old, 3 year old and 1 year old I was asked to pull the car forward as it was overhanging the kerb behind me slightly. Being on my own I was then left with the decision of whether to put them all back in the car (which is difficult on my own with three children) or leave them standing in a busy car park on their own. Overall this was a lot of problems for a 5 minute trip and has put me off coming here again.

I took a chance with Charlie's after …

I took a chance with Charlie's after seeing the poor score here but the price on the item I purchased was to good to miss. Placed the order online Tuesday night took delivery 11am Friday morning. Was provided a tracking number which was live and actual tracked my delivery. My item was over 30kg and had to be shipped to N IRELAND I was amazed shipping was free.

I thought they were really good

I thought they were really good. I ordered a tent foot.print and carpet. It was delivered within 2 days of ordering. The price was much cheaper than anywhere else. I was a little worried because of the other reviews but they were honestly easy to purchase from. I only.marked them down 1 star because the date version of the products I bought were.not indicated on the web site. However, they clarified it by emailing.a very quick response to my question. All in all - great service.

My Experience? - Great Service

I've read the negative reviews here - seems that a lot of them are about the quality of the products received. This is the fault of the manufacturer, surely, and not Charlies Direct?
My experience was very positive - the product was faulty (large item) and was replaced in a couple of days. Communication via email was excellent - I was not even asked to send the faulty one back!
Personally, I would highly recommend them - Not sure what happened to other customers regarding Customer Service? Maybe they've pulled their socks up due to previous negative feedback?

Easy FIVE STARS - Outstanding Service!

This review will hopefully make others think before totally relying on Trust Pilot as I have on previous occasions. Two days ago, I was about to place an on-line order for some expensive garden furniture when my attention was drawn to the amount of negative feedback about this company on Trust Pilot. I telephoned Charlies Direct three times for various reasons and on each occasion had no difficulty speaking to a member of staff who were polite and very helpful. Having discovered the amount of poor reviews on Trust Pilot, I decided to call once more to discuss my concerns and they pointed me towards eKomi, which for those of you who don't already know is another 'reputable' customer review site. Charlies Direct fares much better on eKomi and currently scores 4.8 out of 5. Despite this, I would have looked elsewhere to fulfil my order but other suppliers were either out of stock or over-priced. So, with some trepidation, I placed my order at 10am on 24/04/17. I received conformation of my order via email and further updates via email during the delivery process. Everything arrived safely at 1pm today (26/04/17).
Well done, Charlies Direct - an easy FIVE STARS for Outstanding Service!

Shocking company

Will never buy from this shower again. They lie and the customer service is a complete joke.

They sold us down the line when they sold Viking lawnmowers using the Stihl brand name and stating that they were excellent lawnmowers. Such utter rubbish. Oddly enough they do not sell Viking anymore. I wonder why?

The lawnmower we bought is an absolute load of rubbish. In 2 years it has had 3 x drive belts, 2 x clutch cables and is just awful at cutting what is a fairly standard sized lawn that is nice and flat.

Seriously do yourselves a favour and go to a company who actually know what they are selling.

diabolical experience

Was texted on there seperate days to be Todd to expect delivery. They never turned up then made out they had try to deliver and nobody was home. Nonsense. Customer Services constantly telling me they Would investigate and call back and NEVER Would. Had to chasÄ™ them up every day for nearly two weeks. Finally cancelled then recieved a card thru letterbox next day to Say they had tried to deliver. Took another week to get a refund. An absolute joke.

Excellent Company

After reading so many of the negative reviews for this company I nearly didn't order from this company but I couldn't find the dog bed I wanted cheaper or the same price from anywhere else so I went ahead and ordered the item. I was so pleased I did, I ordered it online on the Monday evening and it arrived by courier on Wednesday lunchtime.
I was immediately sent a confirmation email and then another email when the item was dispatched giving me a tracking number which I was able to track on the day and then 5 to 15 minutes before courier UK Mail was about to deliver to my home I received a text to say we were the next stop for delivery.
I highly recommend this company from my own experience.

Terrible quality

Bought catherine lansfield towels, nothing like the photo, shocking quality, I have better dusters in my cupboard! Colour was nothing like the image (called Cobalt and looked deep blue in image which showed plush towels), but was pale turquoise when they arrived and terrible quality, no loop pile at all just thin cheap fabric. Not particularly cheap to purchase or a bargain at £10 per towel. Customer services polite but ineffective, no offer of free return for products not as advertised. Could have avoided this review if you had been prepared to spend £4 on return postage Charlies!

goods didnt arrive and wont give a refund

The order I placed didn't arrive and because I didn't chase them within 10 days of the date they say it was sent they told me they cant get proof from the courier so tough. How am I supposed to know to chase 10 days after the date of a package that I didn't know had been sent! SCAM

Kerbside delivery only

but only advise you in T&C - who reads those very closely. I think if you are doing kerbside deliveries only it should be within the Delivery detail before you order as it would put some people off ordering.

Return with no hassle

Ordered a Vango tent amongst other items from here for a camping holiday. Delivery was very fast and all the items were well packaged. When we pitched the tent we found that the toggles and loops attaching the inner tent to the outer tent did not match at all. We contacted Charlies Direct and they gave us a label and collection day for it to be returned and the refund only took a couple of days.

Purchase of Kingfisher Knapsack Pressure Sprayer from Charlies Direct

I have just bought a Kingfisher Knapsack Pressure Sprayer from Charlies Direct. When I used the sprayer for the first time two leaks appeared on the top of the pump through a fault in the cap. Clearly this is dangerous when spraying weedkiller .

I asked for a refund or for Charlies Direct to provide an alternative replacement through another product. No response to my request and no refund!!! After reading other reviews it appears that their standard response to complaints by just to ignore the complaint!
