Gainesville, VA overcharge and missing food
I ordered from the Gainesville, VA Eggspectations thru Doordash (their site's online order button never seems to work, so I have to use the other company). At least on their mobile app, hopefully at some point they'll correct this.
I requested that my food be ready at a specific time around 1:45 pm, and I had to wait for them to finish preparing it when I arrived. I didn't mind, because their usually so spot on about the orders. I have been ordering from them and been a patron for years. This is the first time they majorly messed up my food.
My order equalled around $40, and that was for 4 pancakes ($15), and an omelet ($18). I was up-charged to add sausage, and brie cheese to the eggs. The toast is included with the meal at no extra fee. Well when I got home there was no toast, cheese, or sausage. I was charged extra money for things they didn't include. Online they don't seem to have a way to substitute for a side of pancakes, or even just order 1 or 2 pancakes...so I end up paying ($15 for 4 pancakes), that I don't need. Also you can never substitute for extra veggies, easily remove things like tons of meat from the omelet, or create your own which would be nice. This was a very expensive meal for breakfast or brunch, and I'm writing this because the staff need to step it up, and not overcharge people for things they don't give you. I will be sure from now on to check my food before I leave, as the confidence I had in them before was misplaced. When I called and spoke to a manager the next morning, I was told to get reimbursed through DoorDash. The only reason I didn't call yesterday as soon as I left, is because online it says they close at 2 pm...and that's when I picked up the food. Learned a valuable lesson, and will always check, especially since they charge so much for their items. I will be taking a break for a while before ordering from here again. It stings to be charged $40, and it be wrong.
Doordash did reimburse me $19, even though no one from that company made the error. Hoping Eggspectations will step up their work and customer service.
