I am in the market for one-way privacy tint for my windows, and an ad for platinumvvs showed up. Specifically, I was seeing their videos posted on Instagram @platinumvvs account.
I had done research on privacy tints and all of them mention that an observer outside would be able to see inside at night when the interior is brighter than the outside. I noticed many comments asking if this was the case for platinumvvs's product, and the company replied that their product is unique and does not suffer from the issue. I was dubious, as it seemed physically impossible. They also referred commenters to a picture they had posted of a home at night with the tint installed.
When I pointed out the home in the image appeared to have curtains installed to block interior light, due to the light leaks visible around the curtains, platinumvvs decided to block me. Additionally, all my comments have been deleted to prevent other viewers from becoming privy to their tactics.
Their product appears to be no different from similar tints on the market, except for a deceptive claims and a cost that is more than 12 times higher than other "daytime privacy" tints on Amazon.
