Had a problem with light switch not working. Booked electrician online. Very simple and easy to follow. Electrician turned up on time and soon identified problem as a broken wire connection. He fixed this and checked the nearby switches to ensure they were all working.
He was very efficient and courteous. Would definitely recommend HomeServe for peace of mind and good service.

Telephone team very helpful at intial cntact about our failed hot water supply -?an airlock. . Arranged for a plumber/technician to come about 2 days later -unfortunately unable to identify/treat the cause. Two more experienced people came the next day, spent some hours sorting out the problem, and left everything in normal working order -we were very pleased.

CalledRepeated failure to honour confirmed appointments.
Called to arrange a call out to fix a leaking tap on morning of 30 Dec. Appointment confirmed, but no engineer available to attend for 3 days so had to wait 3 days until 2 Jan with an 8-12 slot. Received a call later that day to say they couldn鈥檛 honour that slot, so had to delay until the afternoon slot. Then at 3pm on 2nd received a further call to say the engineer is too busy with other jobs, so they can鈥檛 honour that slot either. Then to make matters worse, they have no engineers available for another 4 days so I now have to wait until 6th Jan. And the customer services person admitted they can鈥檛 guarantee that they will honour that appointment either in the meantime the leak is getting steadily worse. I am paying over 拢500 a year, with a 拢60 call-out charge and am having to wait over a week for someone to come and look at a leak. The service is sold as 鈥減eace of mind鈥� but there is none of that here - a local plumber would be available much quicker and be much cheaper. I will certainly not be renewing in 2 weeks when the annual contract expires.

Like most companies in winter time there is a priority list. Eventually the fault was traced but valve was isolated to allow CH to work. Zone Valve still not working.

The problem with the shower drain鈥�/h2>
The problem with the shower drain occurred shortly before Christmas and you dealt with the matter expeditiously and in time for the arrival of visitors. Two engineers came but were unable to clear the blockage and the second one decided that part of the cloakroom ceiling needed to be removed and this was carried out by a specialist firm. Unfortunately this was subsequently found to be unnecessary leaving a section of the ceiling needing repair which we understand is our responsibility. The third engineer "Lee" was brilliant - he repaired the blockage and subsequent leak by taking up a couple of floor boards in the bathroom and put everything back together - a perfect job!.
