Delayed by months and consistently dishonest customer service
I placed an order for 2 vinyl records in August 2024, one of which was a preorder that said it was expected to ship in October of 2024.
I thought that would be plenty of time to arrive by Christmas. I thought wrong.
October came and went without a single word from Lofi Records, so when it got to November I messaged their customer support asking for an update on the status of my order. On November 6th they responded, saying "Your order includes a pre-order item which only releases this month.
Your order should now be processed.
Please expect a dispatch notification within 10-14 business days from today."
When that window of time passed again with no word, I messaged again, this time mentioning my intention for this order to be given as a Christmas gift and my concern that it now might not arrive in time, and asked when I could expect to receive my package. On December 4th they responded, "One of the vinyls you ordered has just been released late last month.
Please allow at least 10-14 days for the package to be sent to you as we are currently processing them for shipping as we speak."
As the end of this window brought it up to Christmas Eve, I immediately responded and asked for clarification on whether they meant I should expect delivery within that window of time, or just shipment. They did not respond. On the morning of December 6th I messaged again expressing that I did not appreciate being ignored by them. Later that day, they replied "10-14 business days from now to delivery."
It was not delivered in 10-14 business days.
It wasn't even shipped in 10-14 business days. They created the shipping label on December 18th but did not get the parcel to the courier until January 3rd.
The person I intended to give this to for Christmas has their birthday on January 11th. So once I wasn't able to give it for Christmas, I thought I might at least be able to give it for their birthday instead, but at this point worried it wouldn't come in time for that either. I messaged customer support again on January 2nd, asking when I should expect a delivery, and asking that they not give me the same canned response of 10-14 business days that was clearly a lie. On January 8th, they responded "Your order has been dispatched. Is the tracking not working?" With a link to the tracking. Which felt petty and passive aggressive. I hadn't asked for tracking updates, I asked for estimated delivery, which tracking doesn't show.
Thankfully my package came on the last business day before their birthday and I was able to gift it on time, no thanks to Lofi Girl customer support.
I ordered my first vinyl from Lofi Girl way back when they were still Chilled Cow Records. But due to the lack of communication and straight up lies from their customer service, I will never be ordering from them again. This was one of the worst order experiences I've ever had, I will not put myself through that again.
