Just brought cameras with nvr new 2 months ago. Cameras are great NVR sucks. Hired one of their recommended installation experts to come and troubleshoot the problem. Very truthful individual who showed me the firmware for the NVR is outdated by 10 years but lorex sells them as the newest version. Showed me options online for competing NVR systems that will work better with my cameras. I brought one and now the playback and real time is awesome. Lorex would not refund me for their NVR so I sold it on EBAY for 12.00 it cost me 200 2 months ago.....

AVOID DEALING WITH THEM , NO BODY CARES :

1- 11 DAYS AGO On 7th December 2024 , I made an order(ORDER NO:LU5198) of (Lorex 4K 16-Channel (8 Wired 8 Fusion Wi-Fi) 2TB NVR with Smart D
eterrence IP Dome Cameras with 2K Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera and 2K Wired Doorbell N4K2SD-84WDK-DP).

2- On 9th December, 2024 , I received an email that (Your order is on the way. Track your shipment to see the delivery status. FedEx tracking number: 7.70599E+11) The tracking number incorrect,

3- I had to call Fedex to track my order they confirm:

- the correct tracking number is : (770598503571).
- the parcel has been labeled by the sender with this tracking number, however, the sender didn’t contact Fedex to pickup the order to deliver it.

4- During the 11 days , I have made so many calls to Lorex customer service , many tickets been raised asking them to :
• To send my order ( nothing happened and the order is still just only labelled and waiting for eleven days so one of their team send fedex to come pick up the order.
• Or just simply cancel my order and refund my money back.

5- ANY ONE CAN TRACK MY ORDER(770598503571). THROUGH FEDEX AND SEE THE STATUS
11 DAYS NO BODY CARE, NO ORDER BEEN DELIVERED, NO MONEY BEEN REFUNDED THE ORDER STILL WAITING THEIR FOR ONE OF THEM TO CONTACT FEDEX TO COLLECT,AT THE END THEY LEAVE ME WITH ONE OPTION WHICH IS THE COURT.

Be careful in purchasing this doorbell, I purchased mine in June, had it installed by an electrician, doorbell suddenly stopped working when it got cold, phoned customer support, followed their instruction to make it work again to no avail, when claim was escalated to replace the doorbell suddenly I am required to acquire a multimeter and use it to show voltage, despite stating that I have no knowledge in basic electricity and no knowledge how to use a multi meter they still required me to do it. Filed a complaint to bbb and consumer affairs Ontario, currently in contact with the media. I will get rid of my 4 lorex security cameras and switch to more known brand with better customer support. Beware of lorex people!! They will take your money then leave you in the dark when you need them to honor the warranty!!!

Lorex reply is again to put the blame to clients instead of taking responsibility, I reiterate that the doorbell was installed by a licensed electrician that I paid. If the voltage was incorrect then why will it work for over 5 months before it stopped working??? there is a lot of reviews online stating the same issue and same lame excuse that Lorex use to not honor the warranty. The only assistance lorex can provide right now is either to honor the warranty or SEND A LOREX TECHNICIAN!! I ALSO CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH TO NOT TO FORCE YOUR CUSTOMERS DESPITE STATING THAT WE DO NOT HAVE THAT SPECIFIC TOOL AND KNOWLEDGE TO PERFORM DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS THAT SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL!! THAT RESPONSIBILITY IS ON LOREX!!!

The Lorex Floodlight camera is not fit for purpose. The alleged 'infrared' feature is not infrared at all - just a movement detector. As a result, on a rainy night you can have over 100 alerts that are nothing more than rain drops being detected. What is also scandalous is that genuine product reviews from customers such as myself below 4 out of 5 are not published on their website! That should be illegal (if it isnt already).
In response to Lorex reply below, I would like to point out that I had already spoken to their Tech Support on a number of occasions, but they cannot overcome what is a flawed product. I have previously owned a Ring Floodlight Cam and never experienced problems like I do with this camera. Given the high cost of the Lorex product I will have to wait at least a year before being able to replace (no doubt with another Ring security device).

Does not honor their warranty

The worst customer service department

Update 12/24/2024: Still haven't heard from the Escalation Team. Partnership Program is just saying the same thing over and over again and refuse to put me through to a Supervisor. We've done many adjustments and the cameras and DVR do not work together. My cameras are useless right now.

Follow Up 12/12/24: Scheduled a phone call and the Account Manager never called. I left two voicemails and also emailed. When I called the Lorex Partnership Program again, they said they could not get through to the managers. Now I'm waiting again for an Supervisor. Also, I have 11 cases for the same issue!!!!!! That is because every time I speak to them, they close the case even though there is no resolution!!!!

The worst customer service department, IT and Supervisors. Tech was giving me instructions on how to get a camera working properly and her instructions broke a piece of my DVR. Got a warranty one which worked fine for a few months and then it stopped working. Go another warranty DVR and that one didn't work right. Back and forth, deleting, resetting, and numerous other things to make these work and they don't. Now I'm supposed to talk to a higher up tech. Issue is that they aren't available and keep calling me back at the incorrect number that has no service. I've spent hours on the phone with every department and am still having issues with these cameras working correctly. Don't waste your time or money on these products.

Non Existent Customer Service

I went out on a limb and went with lorex- big mistake- their customer service is non existent and their equipment doesn't come with an Operators Manual- they say it's due to the 'Green Initiative' so the customer has to print their own- or pay lorex $25.00 - Tell me how that supports or aids the world's environment- it only helps lorex's bank account! Buyer Beware as dealing with lorex is a nightmare you don't need.

This is our 2nd Lorex Unit as we…

This is our 2nd Lorex Unit as we upgraded to a 4 camera, unfortunately the PQLV219 power adapter failed us on one of our camera's. Contacted Lorex customer service and could not believe the horrible service. They were only willing to sell us a power adapter for 146.00 Canadian available at Walmart for $14.00. If you are shopping for a home security system, shop around. PC Magazine does not even mention Lorex on the top 10. We paid 722.91 two years ago and we can now purchase other models that are far more superior for half the money.

We did some research on PC Magazine and it looks like they have not tested our products since Lorex is missing from the list of brands on their website. However, Lifehacker, which is the sister company of PC Magazine, recently named our 4K wired doorbell among the best 5 to buy in 2024. We also received recommendations from other reputable sources such as Newsweek, CNET and Security.org.

I purchased the Lorex security camera…

I purchased the Lorex security camera system from Costco, hoping it would meet my expectations. One of the main reasons I chose this product was the motion zones feature advertised, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work as expected.

I receive over 100 unnecessary alerts per day from each camera. For example, it detects people across the street and sends constant notifications. Even in areas I have excluded within the motion zones, I still receive alerts. I reported these issues to Lorex, but I have yet to receive any response.

Additionally, the features promoted in their ads, such as car detection, face detection, and missing object detection, don’t function properly either. These were significant factors in my decision to purchase this product, but they’ve been a major disappointment.

I’m considering returning the system soon. For anyone thinking of purchasing Lorex, be aware of these issues. The features sound impressive in the advertisements, but they fall short in actual use.

For setting up the motion zones, please refer to your system's Manual, as the process to set the zones correctly is divided in two. In the manual, look for Motion Zone and Detection Zones, you need to set both in order to work, Motion Zone and Detection Zones should match.

Unit would not work on delivery

Unit would not work on delivery, technical would not organise a replacement unit until a long drawn out trouble shooting exercise, 3 weeks on non working brand new unit. Customer service useless with no empathy for the customer.
Case number 871467 for Lorex to look into this, which they won't from the past 3 weeks experience.
Technical support do not help, say send info my email, then never answer emails and finally send one to say please ring as it will be quicker, when I have been ringing, the operator says I cant help because I am just at the bottom of the chain and cannot find anything out about who is dealing with it.
DO NOT purchase from this company, unless you want to part with your money for a useless product and support.

This security system just doesn't work

This security system just doesn't work. I've had an 8 camera Lorex DVR system for a few years now and I'm just done. I have had vehicles crash off the road and nearly hit my house right in front of a camera and the only notification I got was coming home to tire tracks across my yard. I've had PROCESSIONS of cars loop around my driveway passing FOUR cameras and received a notification for one of them. Though, the system is apparently sensitive enough that I regularly get notifications of movement when there is absolutely no movement, or a tree limb casts a shadow, headlights sweep across the yard, and when the camera switches between night vision and color. Today my dog escaped my house after I went to work and pulled a trash bag out of a can, shredding the bag and picking thru the trash RIGHT UNDER A CAMERA and I only learned about it when I pulled into my driveway to find a trash pile and a dog that should have been inside.
I have contacted customer support before and was advised to reset the unit, which did nothing to help. The DVR function was a selling point for me as I did not want to pay for cloud storage for as long as I own a security system that already cost hundreds of dollars. At this point, I'm ready to switch to a smart system that can tell the difference between a car and a leaf, and doesn't notify me of my own car sitting stationary in my driveway day after day, and if that means paying Nest a monthly fee, I'll do it happily knowing that I have a functional security system.

Did not receive delivery information…

Did not receive delivery information from lorex until AFTER fedex had tried to deliver my package. No idea where £500+ of parcel is now.

Funnily enough i contacted customer support after the order was placed as i did not receive any delivery information or an invoice. The next time I have to contact you will be for a refund.

Won't stand behind their product, tedious customer service

Lorex is an atrocious company, their wireless cameras are sub par. One camera broke (was heating up and hot to touch) two weeks outside of the warranty. The customer service experience was tedious, I had to repeat details multiple times. I was told that since my warranty had just expired I could upgrade and get a new camera. I let them know that this was unacceptable for a year old system that I had sent a significant amount of money on, to which they replied they would look into a one time exception and I would hear back in 24 hours. Fast forward seven days, still no response so I called them back. I had to go through the entire scenario again with the rep (even though I provided a case number) and after 10 minutes, I was told they would not stand behind their product and there was nothing they would do for me. I will now be removing this system and will purchase from a far more reputable provider.

Once your monitoring system is discontinued…

Once your monitoring system is discontinued out of their system you will no longer be able to reset your administrator password so basically you are completely locked out. They’re basically trying to force you to purchase a new system even though there’s nothing wrong with your old system. We called customer service twice and the customer service agents are no help. They don’t know anymore than we do about resetting passwords & administration passwords. The only help they give you is that they will send you steps by email that aren’t helpful. Followed all the steps to activate the warranty, filled out the reset password form only to keep getting an error message to log out and log back in each time. Still no help. Don’t buy it unless after five years you want to purchase a whole new system just for simple technical issues.

Thinking about a Lorex system? I'd look elsewhere.

The saying is "you get what you pay for". In this case it doesn't apply. We purchased a "higher end" system, from Costco, thinking it would be the best way to go. What a waste of $800. 6 to 8 months after setting it up the way we wanted, ALL detection function stopped. We no longer receive ANY motion notifications. There are ZERO events being recorded or logged. What's the point of security cameras that DON'T WORK. We've rebooted, reset, reformatted, adjusted settings, turned notifications off/on, changes detection zones, deleted detection zones, etc to NO AVAIL. Garbage!! Thinking about a Lorex system? I'd look elsewhere. EDIT: The canned responses from Lorex doesn't help convince me these were the best choice for security cameras.

I've had these cameras for some time…

I've had these cameras for some time and had problems with them in different houses with different internet. Therefore problem doesn't lie with internet. They work ok then suddenly you notice that they don't send notifications to your phone, therefore unreliable and you don't know if someone is breaking in. Lorex know of this push notification problem however the problem persists. The system is also convoluted if something goes wrong with it. Please beware if you buy these cameras you will spend hours over the years trying to get an unreliable bug ridden system to work. Don't waste your money, there must be something better on the market.

Hard to beat

I've been using Lorex systems for over 8 years, always bought them at Costco and they work great for the price. Although hardware is basic, it's easy to extend with standard electronics. The software is very intuitive and easily accessible on Android and iOS.
