I give them 1 star only because no stars wasn't an option. Clicked through to their website from another site where I'd already entered my check in/out dates. Agoda changed the dates and I didn't realise until after booking. Even though the booking was 4 weeks away agoda wouldn't cancel or change dates. Question "would you recommend agoda to a friend?". I wouldn't recommend them to Adolf Hitler.

Within 5 minutes of booking a flight we realised the date was incorrect and set to tomorrow. Upon calling Agoda customer service, they told us we had to wait for the confirmation email which arrived a few hours later. However when we called them again and again they kept referring us to the airline, never being able to really help despite being the company we booked through. It would be a simple matter to change the flight date, but they refused to execute it. This is literally daylight robbery and we were ripped off for 667 AUD, NEVER USE AGODA!!!

My husband and I cancelled our reservation and confirmed with the hotel that it was all set. They confirmed that the reservation was cancelled and fully refunded. However, Agoda continues to say that they can't cancel the booking and will charge us in full. When asked why the hotel is saying they've refunded it at no charge Agoda reps say they can't reach the hotel to confirm, even though I've easily confirmed with the hotel three times now. I now have to get my bank's fraud department involved. Do not use this platform to book anything!

DO NOT BOOK with AGODA! I had the unfortunate experience of booking a hotel stay with them and when booking they changed and increased the number of days so when i booked, the price i paid was significantly higher! When I called them, they said they wouldn't cancel and that they actually used a 3rd party based in China and so I lost mony on days I wasn't even going to be able to use. I HATE AGODA!

Stay away from Agoda

This company is a scam and it beats me how they still work. They charge for “taxes and fees” and refuse to disclaim what taxes and services are covered by it. They even told me that services I paid for are not services I will get. They also hide costs- I had to pay for city tax upon my arrival to the hotel, and Agoda claimed they were not notified about it, but the hotel has it mentioned on their website.
Contacting customer service was a nightmare - they were going round in circles, lying.. and with very poor English.
I honestly recommend to everyone to just use Booking, in the end it’s cheaper. This was the first and the last time I used Agoda.

I bought a puppet show ticket in Hanoi.

I bought a puppet show ticket in Hanoi.
When I arrived to collect the ticket, agent told me they r sold out and I have to accept a lower priced ticket. I had paid for VIP and they were giving me standard ticket.
Very appalling service. This is second time agoda has screwed up for me.

NEVER BOOK WITH AGODA.

NEVER BOOK WITH AGODA.
We’ve had two terrible booking experiences in as many days that have left us out of pocket and destitute in a foreign country.
Firstly, we booked two nights accommodation - all confirmed - until we arrived at the hotel to be told they rejected our booking. No word from Agoda and no help to find alternative accommodation. That left us late at night wandering the streets for an alternative and at this time of year - everywhere is fully booked.

They offered us a discount to book our next hotel to ‘make up’ for the issues with the first booking. We booked a hotel in the app it said ‘pending’ so we waited, the booking completely disappeared from the upcoming bookings part of the app and appeared in cancellations - at which point I contacted the chat to request a full refund. I booked alternative accommodation directly with another hotel as I wasn’t going to be without a place to stay again. Only to receive a confirmation in the middle of the night to say the original hotel had accepted our booking. I spent 1hr 26mins on the phone for them to say, that I had made a mistake and the booking wasn’t cancelled as I had received no email (I hadn’t received an email about the first hotel) so they could do nothing it was my own fault.
When mentioning the app the customer service representative said it was a glitch - so I fail to see how I am responsible? Although very nice and clearly trying to help - she said there was nothing to be done just contact the hotel. I didn’t book with the hotel I booked with Agoda!!!

This time there was zero attempt to rectify so I’m left £1500 pounds out of pocket and three days of my hotel spoilt. Please, please, please don’t make my mistake. Spend your money with a reputable company. Agoda are a money making scheme.

Very bad

1 star is not good enough

1 star is not good enough! I made a booking. It seemed really nice and reasonable priced. It said non-refundable, that should have been the first red flag. But I figure, lock in a reasonable price- ok, no problem.

When I show up, I had issues checking in and I am seeing a swarm of men. I feel uncomfortable but realize, it’s an apartment building. Eventually get to the unit, it’s one apartment split into multiple rooms which Agoda did not indicate in writing, like a hostel! I have an issue with this set up so I ask for a manager. I’m not comfortable staying here not even for one night! After seeing the lack of cleanliness and cockroach. I’m absolutely out!

The “manager” eventually agrees to assist me with a refund the next day. Now I am calling and they are offering AED 42.79 and I paid AED855.47. Where in the world does that even make sense? Where are corporate entities taking advantage of people like this and it is being permitted?

Whoever is in charge at this company and support these unethical business practices, you MUST correct these wrongs!!!

I am demanding a full refund!

Do not book with AGODA

Do not book with AGODA ! they canceled our hotel reservation on us 24 hours before traveling to Thailand on the 29th of December ! The current options are 5 times the prices now, they made us wait 3 hours on the phone to tell us that 'they are sorry' 'they understand' and that 'they cannot rebook us the same hotel or another one'. Worst travel company and worst experience !

When you book with Agoda you expect…

When you book with Agoda you expect that what they list on there page is true and when they say the hotel has a pool and it's 2 miles from the place you are going to visit. You expect that when you arrive the pool should be working and not covered up with a tarp.Then you find out that the hotel is 5 miles away from the place you are going you know you have just been lied to, Then you hear gunshots going off you know you better get the hell out of that area. I never checked in after I booked the place 15 hours before arrival because of exactly those reasons. They said they would not cancel the reservation because they have a 48 hr cancellation policy, I said I have a fake review policy and that exactly what they posted a fake review. 6 months later after 3 CC reversals they are still playing around with my CC even though it was cancelled and a new number was issued. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CC NUMBER and do not do business with them They are a fraud.

A bad experience with Agoda.

I made a reservation for December 25-27 to celebrate the holidays with my husband. I traveled from Melbourne and arrived in Townsville at approximately 8:15 PM, reaching the hotel by 8:30 PM.

Upon arrival, I noticed a sign stating that the hotel’s service hours were from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and no service would be available after that time. I did not receive any prior notification via email or message regarding this.

I attempted to contact the hotel through the provided phone number and email, but there was no response. As a result, I reached out to Agoda’s customer service for assistance. Your team tried to contact the hotel on my behalf, but they also received no response.

I later learned that other customers who faced similar issues were able to get their room keys through a specific application. However, in my case, this was not an option due to a different booking process. Ultimately, Agoda offered to find alternative accommodation for us, but no options were available because the hotel did not participate in this process.
My partner and I were left to solve the problem on our own, which was extremely difficult during the holiday season. It was dark, scary, and there was no food available. This was our first time in Townsville, and we are both women.
I contacted the hotel, and they emailed me saying that the agent did not provide customer information, which is why the hotel couldn’t contact me.

THE CONTRASTED PHOTOS PUT IN EVIDENCE THE DIRT (MAKE A ZOOM TO SEE THE HAIR ON THE BEDSHEETS AND PILLOWS)
THE ROOM IS GLOOMY, UNCLEAN, STUFFY, WITH WINDOWS THAT CAN'T BE OPENED, A TOOTHPICK LYING ON THE FLOOR, SHEETS WITH HOLES AND STAINS, AND GENITAL HAIRS FROM PREVIOUS GUESTS ON THE PILLOWS AND SHEETS. THE ROOM CARPET IS FILTHY AND FULL OF DIRT! ALL THE BATHROOM JOINTS ARE ROTTEN! WE LEFT THE PREMISES AN HOUR AFTER OUR ARRIVAL BECAUSE THE HOTEL COULDN'T PROVIDE ANOTHER ROOM!! I SENT PHOTOS TO AGODA HOPING FOR A REFUND!! THE PARTNERS CONSIDER THAT THE ISSUE DOES NOT WARRANT A REFUND!!
NO APOLOGIES FROM THE HOTEL. THEY HIDE BEHIND THEIR CHINESE PARTNER BASED IN SHENZHEN TO AVOID TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.

Oh my is this company for real?

Oh my is this company for real?! Booked a hotel and was sent a confirmation email, 48hrs before the date i decided to confirm directly with the hotel to make sure everything is good and no issues with reservation...THERE WAS NO DAMN RESERVATION ON THE NAME I GAVE! are you for real???! Contacted agoda and was told it will take 48hrs for their "intermidiary" company to respond because they cant. THATS OK THEN, WE WILL JUST SPEND £5000 AND SLEEP ON THE FLOOR OUT SIDE THE HOTEL UNTIL YOU LOT RESPOND. And the audacity to tell me it will take 45days for a full refund. This company is a joke. AVOID

Never book thru these guys

Never book thru these guys. Customer service keeps telling that any changes to be done via booking partner but the booking partner never responds to them.
I have a booking where the property is ready to make changes but the agoda and their booking partner are not even reaching out to property

I have done 2 time booked by mistake…

I have done 2 time booked by mistake then try to cancel and asking for refund. They say yes ok can cancel. The first booking can not refund. But second booking I should have a refund but they didn’t. I loose £1000 buy them cheating

Agoda is a terrible company

Agoda is a terrible company. Do not use it! Reservations are not reliable. They cancelled our reservation two days before our trip. We had reserved well ahead of time for good price, and after the cancellation, the hotel tried to sell the same room for twice the price to us (Samala hotel in Bangkok). That is the way how Agoda and the hotels try to maximise their profits. Customer service is also terrible.
