Incompetent on all levels. A simple balance transfer request. Nope. 3 calls with support, 2 in person meetings (the BMO representative called 4 times over 2 hours as I sat there). Balance transfer kept getting denied for unknown reasons. 4 messages to support online. They told me to wait 30 business days. 30 business days pass, another message to them -- oops they made a mistake, the transfer failed again.
2 more phone calls... Okay, the lady will talk to her manager, please wait on the line. After 10 mins of radio silence, she hung up on me.
Call again. Explain that someone else was helping me. She doesn't understand. Back and forth, on hold, and finally, they tell me they can't help.
Horrible, horrible service, from start to finish.
I have wasted probably 8+ hours of my life on this. F*** BMO.

Unfortunately, I can't give any less of a score. Before I go any further. I have good credit score, and have not missed one payment in the past. I also make a good income. I stated the renewal process in Nov, 2024, with a renewal date of Jan 1, 2025. thinking I would get a jump on it.
Well needless to say was start of ongoing fiasco. It now Jan 23, no set mortgage, only find myself in a high interest (Temp 6 month) mortgage situation.
They have displayed a level of incompetence, and lack of customer relations, that is totally unbelievable.

Had a billing issue been with his bank since I was 16 now 45. They refused to fix an issue with a bill payment that was sent to the wrong provider. I have not been able to get my funds back from this wrong provider as they just sent me a check that check balance like a rubber balland nobody’s helpful on either end so as at this point, I’m still out 500 and some dollars plus my time very shitty bank
BMO put an ad on the internet for their business accounts, so I went on their website to look. I couldn't believe my eyes. BMO is as racist and sexist as it gets. They have links for BMO for asians, blacks, native americans, sexual orientations, women, .... No men, though, or anyone else. I called BMO to file a complaint and they hung up on me. These people are out of their minds. They are a bank. They are not the arbiters of society or politics. As if they care about these "groups". They are predatory bankers who are out to make money at all costs. BMO ought to be sued. They aren't going to get hold of my money.

I have been battling with BMO since…
I have been battling with BMO since November 2024 to receive my remaining account balance after closing my account. This process has been nothing short of infuriating.
Most recently, on 01/07/2024, I spoke with Jasmine Beets from the resolutions department. Instead of assisting me, she was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful. Here’s what happened:
She ignored my serious questions about the delays and sent me blank forms via email, which were supposed to resolve the issue.
When I pointed out the forms were blank, she casually stated that I needed Adobe software to complete them, a requirement that was never mentioned before.
Her tone was condescending, and she made a shocking comment: “trying to play you out of $100.” This is completely unacceptable.
This experience reflects the pattern of poor service I’ve faced with BMO for months:
Repeated calls to representatives who lack professionalism, dismiss my concerns, and fail to update critical account information (e.g., my address).
Conflicting updates about the status of my funds, forcing me to repeat myself endlessly.
Excessive delays with no accountability or urgency to resolve my issue.
It has been over two months, and I am still without my money. The level of incompetence and disregard I’ve experienced is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to reconsider banking with BMO.

Worst Services Worst Bank
Never heard of a bank that charges $50 for a $129 wire transfer from Canada to US. You can't even send money online for so many countries. Get with the times. Absolute WORST bank.

One would have to use expletives to describe the behaviour of this banks staff who are corporate pariahs.
From the CEO who is beyond woke and is so far out of reach I would guess to say his right hand has to make an appointment to scratch his A___.
I read many other stories of how poorly this bank treats longtime EXCELLENT standing clients which seemed hard to fathom, until we experience the same thing.
There staff left us hanging for 3 months never got back to us we had issues with our banking that needed attention. When we voiced our concerns they debanked us. We have never missed a single payment have credit score of 873 and these Banking rectums.
If you want to voice your concern to the WOKE elephant in the room. Look to no other. Here is USELESS CEO's email Fill up his box. check the google reviews I will post it there
He so WOKE and out of touch he probably is not capable of getting off his high horse to come down and talk to the mice. This man is 1000% USELESS as are his ABUSIVE STAFF. ALL THE REVIEWS YOU READ HERE ARE 100% ACCURATE. -100 STAR*

New checking account bonus
I have already made more than $6,000 in direct deposits within 60 days (the requirement was $4,000 in 90 days), but I still haven't received my bonus. I already called 1-888-340-2265, spoke with three people, and even with the General Manager, but no one can help me. They opened cases for investigation, but I have not received any response yet. BMO Bank, you are LIARS AND SCAMMERS!!!!
When responding to my review, please avoid using standard replies like 'Call 1-888-340-2265 number, and we will help you! I have already called multiple times, spoken to several representatives, including the General Manager, and still haven't received any assistance. I need a concrete resolution, not another generic response.

The Worst Bank!
I’ve had the worst experience with them. DO NOT use them if you’re looking for a mortgage even though they “promise” to offer you a great rate. I was provided with a loan estimate with a LOCKED IN interest rate of 6.5% by Jeff Rhodes. He insisted I pay the application fee to move forward and made urgently pay the amount of $495. 2 days later I receive an updated estimate where they raised the rate to 7.125%! No explanation except oops I don’t know what’s happening. I called multiple times and was sent to voice mail. He then reached out to assure me they were working on it but that he would advise me to go with someone else. Absolutely unprofessional and caused so much stress. Contracts for home purchases are time sensitive and they have no regard for that. He dodged all my calls and messages for several days after. He promised they would refund my application fee and ghosted me when I reached out to ask about it. Terrible unprofessional bank. Literally use anyone but them. Would give them no star if that was an option.

I am disgusted!!
I am disgusted!!!Bank of the West was bought out and I have had nothing but problems with BMO. Firstly, no branches! Then it took forever for me to actually get an ATM card. I tried on line, but had to call. Finally found one with my OLD ADDRESS had to CALL to get it activated. This should take no time, but figured it might take a bit. Call started ok, but then it went south. The rep seemed to be taking a long time without giving me info. She then started to truly scare me. The woman is asking me about Amazon charges .,, um no not on this account because no card for 2 years. Then something about consenting to things she cannot explain and asking if my account was business or personal after having my SSN, my confirming my phone, a code texted etc. Asking for credit card expiration … when it is a debit. Asking about another charge to my account - but it is EFT rent. Holy crap! This has been the worst call and I am still on it! For over 23 minutes. WTF???

Interac e transfers get my sending…
Interac e transfers get my sending transfers locked. If i could give negative stars for this wonderful bank I would. I regret the day I opened up a BMO bank account because I did not thing they would have such garbage AI implemented tools for “bank security” that just lock you out of your own stuff.
Every time I make an e transfer the fraud department has to manually approve it for me. Even the employees probably think this is horribly configured. Bank management probably too busy doing lines behind their overpriced desk and probably forgotten how to hire a software developer for a small measely price to fix this simple interac e issue.

I like to start by saying I would like…Dont Waste your time
I like to start by saying I would like to give this bank and absolute zero or a minus 100 the experience I have had with this bank has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any Bank from being racially profiled because I have money in my bank and having my bank account froze because of that to going online to try to send payments only to have my bank account Frozen again and again because I don't know how old my friends kids are, why would BMO Bank ask me about my friend's children, I am no pedophile and have no business knowing anything about my friend's children but because I can't answer questions about the birthdate of my friend's children or where they live BMO freezes my account and I have to go through a process of having myself identified over and over and over again for the exact same thing no matter what I say that's exactly what the problem is they are asking questions about my friend's children not my own horrible experience horrible experience horrible experience

15 years and a absolute scam
Been with them for 15 years, worst service imaginable. My account was completely changed without myself being notified at all. I visited local branches as well as called all the numbers and Noone could tell me who did it or why. Holding money for no reason after paychecks get deposited. Forcing nsf charges and overpay charges even though your money is sitting there. They can force your emt to not work. Employees can hardly count , let alone bank.
(I've checked the box that informs bmo about my review. They still don't care enough to reply)

Brutal ignorant Customer service
When they say terrible customer service they’re being polite. One would have to use an expletive here.
This is a bank that does not care about anyone except themselves after banking with them for close to 30 years. There’s not enough space on this page to explain the way our account has been handled.
This is fourth world banking and if you write to their CEO, he’s too busy in his ivory Tower.
With seven figures in the bank, you think they would treat you better not here!
There should be legislation put in place to protect consumers from people that behave like this.
Abhorrent deplorable disgusting to be most polite
And you can tell they’ve not answered a single complaint here which speaks volumes to this post

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Extremely long deposit holds even when you see your current balance has updated. I reached out about it and still have not been helped even though a customer advocacy person contacted me one time. Still have not been helped and I reached out to that person twice. Do not bank here! I’m saving you from a mistake and headache

Fraud Department Woes
Even though I've signed up for mobile "suspected fraud" alerts on more than one occasion, they don't contact me. By the time something gets declined and I figure it out, there are multiple problems to fix. The latest was an Amazona "Subscribe and Save" of the same, exact things I've been getting every month for nearly a year now. Then, when I call in the wait time is usually over thirty minutes. I have to call on something stupid more than once a month. They screw it up and then they do not have the personnel to assist.
