Check in Not possible "Check format of expiry Date" we checked it and everything is in the requested format. At the Airport in Orlando 100s of people in the check in queue but no staff (it is Nobody here, everyone waiting). Terrible Service, would not recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised with Discover Airlines and thus want to share our experience here. In late December we flew from Frankfurt to Mauritius. Just before taking off the pilot realised a fault on one of plane wing flops. Firstly, mechanics tried to fix the issue but without success. Then, the flight was canceled and we were informed that accommodation at the airport hotel for all passengers will be provided and that the flight will take place the next day. However, soon we got another message from Discover Airlines offering to reroute us free of charge to a same-day flight of a different company (Etihad) via Dubai. We accepted the offer and arrived to the destination 10 hours later then originally planned.

Upon return we filed a compensation request to Discover Airlines, which was super-quickly processed and within a week we received a full compensation for the delayed flight. Despite initial mechanical issue (which was outside of their scope of influence), Discover Airlines did everything they could, first to fix a plane and then to accommodate the passengers or to reroute them to different flight. Finally, without any excuses or delays they have compensated us for the hassle we experienced. We very much appreciated such an attitude and wanted to share our experience with Discover Airlines as a positive example how airliners should treat their customers. We will certainly fly with Discover again.

Had return trip Frankfurt-Calgary- Frankfurt Nov 22, 2024 to Dec 13, 2024.
First trip delayed for 1h. Cabin crew was always very polite & helpful but left me without food. But the flight was not the
worst. What was the worst experience - the pre boarding in Calgary airport. Ground service the worst I had anywhere. Rude, arrogant, unfriendly staff, not helpful at all..
Never again Discover..

I just had to write this review because i really hated having to fly with them after reading the experiences in here.
The check in was fast and efficcient, the boarding a bit slow but ok. Plane was
new and spotless with good leg room. Friendly and professional cabin crew. Super flight experience. I didn't try the food but was served hot chocolate.
I was really pleased and happy with all of the experience.

We flew across the ocean from the USA…

We flew across the ocean from the USA to Europe with this company. The seats were extremely hard. The headrests of several seats were falling off, the toilet had probably never been cleaned, they didn't lock the door to the toilet. And when I landed, my ears hurt so badly that I felt like they were going to burst. That's never happened to me before!!!!

Avoid Discover Airline at All Costs

My recent experience with Discover Airline was the most distressing travel ordeal I’ve ever endured. Despite their affiliation with Lufthansa, their service and handling of critical matters fall far below any reasonable standard.

From the outset, there were significant failures in communication and coordination. Prior to our flight, I diligently followed procedures, including confirming multiple times with Lufthansa’s hotline about transporting a registered air pistol. However, Discover’s staff demonstrated a shocking lack of knowledge and professionalism, creating unnecessary obstacles that escalated into an outright nightmare.

On the day of departure, I was subjected to conflicting instructions, with employees seemingly improvising rules on the spot. Their refusal to check in the item, despite federal police clearance, led to hours of confusion, delays, and emotional distress for my wife and me. Ultimately, we were denied boarding our flight, even though the aircraft departed 40 minutes late.

The lack of empathy or assistance from the airline’s staff was appalling. I was left scrambling to resolve the issue myself while my wife was reduced to tears. The indifference of the employees, including dismissive remarks and thinly veiled threats, only compounded the situation. Adding insult to injury, we were forced to pay out of pocket for two additional nights of accommodation, transportation, and a new weapon case to comply with their arbitrary requirements.

Even after being rebooked, Discover continued to mishandle our case. On the rebooked flight, I was initially barred from boarding due to an “empty entry” in their system—an error that neither I nor the staff could understand. My wife refused to board without me, and it was only after yet another confrontation that we were allowed to proceed.

The consequences of Discover’s gross mismanagement have been far-reaching. Upon arriving home, I tested positive for COVID-19, likely due to the prolonged exposure during our delayed journey. My wife and I both suffered financial losses, stress, and lasting professional repercussions.

Adding insult to injury, when I submitted a claim for reimbursement of these additional expenses, Discover Airline flatly refused, demanding receipts for every expense despite having bank statements that clearly demonstrate the costs incurred. Moreover, they failed to conduct the thorough investigation I had requested into their numerous failings.

In summary, Discover Airline’s handling of this situation demonstrated incompetence, negligence, and a complete disregard for customer well-being. Their staff’s behavior was unprofessional at best and malicious at worst. If this is what passes for service under the Lufthansa banner, I will avoid both Discover and Lufthansa in the future.

I strongly advise others to think twice before booking with Discover Airline. My family and I are still dealing with the fallout of this traumatic experience, and I would not wish this on anyone.

Poor price to experience. Worst airline ever…

Paid $1626 for the flight $75 for (1) bag there and another $75 for (1) bag to return…in return I had a (4) hour delay to Germany and a (2) delay on the return flight. Seats extremely small and uncomfortable. I am only 5’4” and 160 lbs should easily fit! Onboard service was atrocious. The flight attendants don’t care if you are happy or not; they do the absolute minimum! They are not LH quality. The Captain on both flights have very little information about why their was a delay and Discover did absolutely nothing to soothe the passengers, not even a free cocktail or wine in flight.

Uncomfortable seats, haughty flight attendants and no headphones

I have to echo the review below (it's almost as if they've taken the words from my mouth):
"Rude flight attendants, poor quality of food, uncomfortable seats"
The flight attendants are aloof, haughty and uncaring.
Seat-wise, it was the most uncomfortable 10 hour flight ever experienced.
We were warned that meals were poor. Supper was fine. Breakfast was poor.
How can an airline take money for a 10 hour flight, offer movies but provide no way of listening?
No-one around us watched movies because no headphones were provided.
When I asked if we could have headphones, I received a pained expression from the flight attendant that they'd be given to us after supper. Of course, none were provided and the attendant never returned.
Never again will we fly with Discover...worst long haul flights ever.

Rude flight attendants

Rude flight attendants, poor quality of food, uncomfortable seats, and delayed flights both ways. Honestly, I wish I had booked Lufthansa directly or anything else.

Hotel providers heavily advise against using this airline.

We operate a hotel in a popular tourist destination. We and the neighbouring hotels recommend all customers choose an alternative airline. A countless number of our guests have complained of mistreatment, poor customer service, and in many cases, blatant conning by offering non-refundable add-ons (like extra leg room) that are not present on their aircraft. To ensure guests have a lovely holiday, we suggest heavily advising against use of this new airline. Please be aware this is a sister provider of Lufthansa.

Be aware they taking non care of theyr customers

They sold tickets for a new direct route from Norway to Germany. This route was announced to be cancelled 2 month before christmas in the local newspaper. When calling the airline and question they do not give any information. They just booked the route from an completly other destanation (600 km away) without any information or question to customer if accept this or would prefer a refound. Now they deny to give refound on this travel, NEVER BOOK WITH THEM, WORST CUSTOMER TREATMENT I EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!!!

By far the worst airline service ever

By far the worst airline service I have ever had. I booked with Air Canada, but they farmed out the flight to Discover. I was quoted $185 to fly with two bikes, but when I got to the counter, I was told $50 per bike... great I thought, as it was cheaper..Once I had passed over my credit card, the agent tried to get me to sign a hand written agreement for the Visa transaction, but the nunber on the paper looked oddly like a 7 inseatd of a 1... once I enquired, the attendant informed me that her original quote of $50 each bike ($100 total) was incorrect and the new price was $750 for both bikes for one way!!!!!!!! Agent would not give me back my credit card until I signed the paper. I signed that I did not agree as the airline had all my luggage and I needed my credit card back! Once at the gate, my wife, who had just been cleared 30 mins earlier that her carry on luggage was no problem, was now told that she had to check it for $250? When my wife politely said a Discover employee had just said it was fine 30 minutes earlier, she was threatened by the employee that she would be kicked off the flight if my wife didn't make her carry-on fit (which it did). Once on the flight, our upgraded seats were no longer available, but they still charged us for the upgrade??? What is wrong with this airline? We will never fly with them again.

Online check-in - app is not working

Booked a comfort class ticket and upgrade. During the check-in process an error message came up "upgrade not yet paid" so I couldn't do the online check-in. I had a train ticket connected to this trip so I never was able to check in and get the train ticket. Once at the airport tickets were issued as booked. Unfortunately too late for my return from Cologne to Frankfurt. So I had to buy another train ticket. Calls to the company were very unsuccessful. Forwarded to different agents and problem was never solved. Try to use another airline to Europe if you want a smooth trip.

Very very bad experience

Very very bad experience. The seats are very small for suck a long haul flights. They don't even have earphones so you better bring your own. The food maybe one of the worst I have experienced, portion and selection wise. I got a small pot of just pasta with bread and cheese. The multimedia system kept freezing. You have to pay for wifi even for only messaging, while this is offered for free in other similar airlines.
And the crew seemed as they were forced to work. No smiling , not welcoming. I had to merely fight with one to let me pass to my seat while she was shouting at an old guy asking him if he wants still or sparkling water.

My friends took a similar flight with another airline and had a much better experience, for a much lower price. I also did the same 2 years ago with a charter flight, and yes, the service was much better.

I am just worried about having to go through this again in my return flight but for sure, this is the first time and will be the very last time I fly with Discover.

Be careful of paying their faults

We had booked the Europe - Florida - Europe flight at Lufthansa, but the flight was operated by this company. Upon on-line check-in (back) I needed to add one bag but their system was repeatedly returning error message (there was no chance to add the bag for 188 US). I contacted there Customer Service but no response (they replied after the whole week!). At the check-in desk I was asked 50 US more than at on-line check-in. Tried to sort it up with present manager (Mr. Roy) but I was said they could not do anything for me (despite of their fault) and if I wouldn´t pay the increased price, my bag simply would not fly with us. Simply said - their fault, you should pay. Just customer ripp-off, would never fly with them again.

Worst experience ever

Hi.
I have been in contact with us.
Please ready again our discussion.

Well, I must Say I have been more than dispapointed by your service.
This Travel is being a Real mess - and WE are spoiling our honeymoon because of your lack of profesionalism.

First of all, the flight we took had a connection flight, We arrived late at the first destination so we had to run and stress out to go from one point to another point in Frankfurt within 30 minutes.
Then, during the flight, the good was not good at all, the hearphones did'nt work so I had to spend 11 hours without any distraction, the toilettes and the self were dirty, thé staff was unfriendly.
But i think the worst of all this is that you forgot our baggage in Frankfurt!!!!
So we had to go on out cruise -we are on now- without any stuff!!!
We have been cruising for 4 days now with two or three clothes and this is a Nightmare !!!
Imagine how unpleasant it is !!!
Also we had no choice than buying New clothes but one of your crew members
Informed us that we would get reimbursed only 50% when we never asked anybody to have such money to spend !!!!
Finally, we are lucky out boat is going back to Orlando tomorrow so we should be able to collect our baggage tomorrow but this is still unsure because we still don't get any confirmation of that - they were supposed to be delivered on Orlando Yesterday and they still aren't- and WE will have to spend the day AT the port to wait for them.. so one Day Lost for nothing !!!
We are really stressed out and angry with your company because you are ruining our honeymoon.
I Hope you Can Do something to repair all this.
It was supposed to be a one life experience but this is a terrible Time for us.

The horror! Do not fly with this airline!!!!!

Flights of pure hell. My sister booked one too with the same experience. I couldn’t possibly imagine that it could happen twice, but it’s just how things are done with this airline.

I was duped by booking a flight with the usual reliable Lufthansa with the normal price. When boarding the plane, I was informed it was Discovery. I had never heard of them before. My flight was an hour late, my connector flight 2 hours late. Some mechanical problems blah, blah, blah. Cramped seating like a cattle truck, dirty, and the head phones for the tv had the wrong connector so I had to bend back a prong so it would fit the socket. Crappy food and if you want a glass of headache inducing cheap wine then you must pay. My sister is stuck in Frankfurt as we await her arrival in Switzerland . The only thing that is consistent is that the flights are constantly late. Never again, and never with Lufthansa because of the affiliation.

Awful experience

They cost me 6 hrs on the way to my destination and it’ll be at least another 6 hrs on the way back.
Service was AWFUL! They don’t pay attention to the service lights and the customer service itself it so bad. It’s just apologies again and again. No more.
