I got scanned using Kobo bank. I reported this scammer and they just locked my account and told me they are working on it. This bank is garbage if you ask me. Watch out after people tell you that they have money for you. Don't use any kind of sharing screen and be very safe online.

I lost my 700 dollars. I contacted them immediately but their customer service didn't help me. And I didn't get back my 700 dollars. Just because of their misinformation I lost the money. Never ever go for a online banking...

I decided to sign up for KOHO鈥檚 credit building and secured credit building programs, and I鈥檝e been really impressed with how quickly my credit score improved.
However, it鈥檚 not exact
ly cheap, so keep that in mind.

The Everything Plan costs $19/month 馃馃徎, and then there are additional fees: $5/month for the credit building, $10/month for secured credit building 馃馃徎and $5/month for 鈥淐over,鈥 which is basically a small emergency fund you can dip into without penalties.

You can, of course, opt out at any time.
You also get your credit score reports.

Other than the costs being pretty high, I think the value is there.

The app itself is really well-designed and easy to use, and I鈥檝e found the customer care and support to be exceptional.

They offer coaching, which has been helpful in guiding me through my credit-building journey.

Plus, there are also some nice perks, like earning 5-6% on your spending balance and 1-2% cashback on your purchases.

AVOID THIS SCAMMY DIGITAL BANK AT ALL COSTS. NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE.

I opened up a verified account with Koho. I didnt get to use it until 3 weeks after opening it.
I had started a new job as well when I had opened rhe account. Once verified got my direct deposit information for my employer.
When my first pay check was deposited they had instantly put a hold on my account. Not giving me a straight answer all they stated was usually it'll be rectified in under 24 hours.
Nothing changed after 24 hours and I called again and they still wouldn't give me a informative direct answer why.
So I'm trying to figure this out. They said they would contact me as soon as anything changes. To which they didn't.
I called them back to find out they sent the issue to the fraud department. So I'm utterly angry but keeping myself in check and asked why?
Still one of their no information we don't know why responses..
So I figured if it gets sent to fraud that means they have to do an investigation which means they need to contact me to verify my account of what was going on and of course my identity.
No they didn't. They didn't even contact me to defend myself.
I called and asked what was going on and they said under careful review of their fraud investigation that they decided to close down my account indefinitely and no information on the matter could be given as the matter was now closed.

Blown away at this scammy occurrence, you'd think okay well they will withdraw my pay check and send it back. Nope!!

Such a skeezy ugly nasty way to run a digital bank.

Upon reading other horrific reviews of exactly the same disgusting way they froze my account.
Makes you wonder if this is just a digital bank of thieving people.
How are they not under a federal investigation of so many similar accounts of freezing users accounts, not sharing with them vital information of their account. Not one direct answer to why? Not one.

Koho is bad business

Koho is bad business. Do not sign up with them they locked me out of my account after i transfered 200 to the account.. the card is being declined everywhere and an expense that i wanted paid before Christmas was declined even though i just transfered the 200. I cannot get access to the funds. They are wanting to verify my identity but the program is not working. They have locked me out of my account for 6 days with no access to the 200. I have no money right now and i have not eaten for 2 days. Tomorrow is Christmas and i cannot eat until i get Gst next week. I am a senior at age 60 and i walk with a cane. This horrible company has no idea how customer service works. No idea that there program is not woking and it will not take my id so they think i am not me. I did nothing to warrant this lockout of my account. And this Koho company i cannot verify myself because the software does not work and they will not look into it they keep trying to trouble shoot and not listening when i say the verification program is not working. They wont listen and i cannot go there to withdraw the money and close my account. This is very bad that i have to starve and pay late charges because this amature theiving company with the cheap software that does not work. Dont trust them they are out to steal from us. But they wont be able to because i can prove i sent money to them that the verification software is not working and that i sent 200 on my koho account and i have to sue them to get it back. Dont trust these amatures cheap software that does not work. Stupid useless staff who has not got me into my account in 6 days i have been wasting my time with there useless team that does not understand how much one person can damage their company. No they just let me starve and not help. I just received a message from koho saying that i cannot chat anymore. So they cut off chat. There is no phone number to call. So basically if KOHO wants to steal your money they just lock you out of your account decline all the transactions. And cut off communication. I will have to get the GOVERNMENT and the Better Business Bureau to help me get my money back. I will starve waiting for my.money. Do not trust koho they are horrible evil theives with bad software program. Dont trust them i am starving and paying late charges i am depressed and it is Christmas you know they are an evil company to steal from and old lady at Christmas. KOHO HAS NO HEART NO FEELINGS AND DOES NOT CARE. AND THERE COMPUTER PROGRAM IS FAULTY AT BEST. DONT TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH THEM THEIR COMPUTER WILL CRASH AND THEY WILL KEEP ALL THE MONEY. IF THEY STEAL FROM AN OLD LADY AT CHRISTMAS YOU KNOW THEY ARE BAD.

THEY ARE A SCAM

They partner with local campus companies to issue scams where they promise to send money to new signups and then never do. A completely scummy business that refuses to take accountability for these operations happening around Ontario.

Ridiculous experience

A friend inadvertently made an e-transfer into an account with Koho I did not realize I had, and I have been trying for the last six hours to transfer it out,
and close the account so this does not happen again.
It has been one roadblock after another trying to get this done. The last reason I was given why the transfer out could not be done was "insufficient funds"...so I had take a screen shot of the account balance, and send this to customer support to show the money was there ..... Ridiculous.

Koho is amazing, affordable and easy to use

I don't know why alot of reviews here are this bad I've used koho for over a year now and my experience is nothing but amazing I find that the app is nicely layed out and its optional paid perks are cost efficient. I will say they are adding too many extra features all the time anyways overall it's great idea affordable and simple to use. Highly recommend koho if you want a card with some basic perks and free of cost with an option for more premium perks and features for an extremely low price

Save your money ELSEWHERE

Pick someone else. They "lost" an etransfer of $125 this morning and somehow it is my fault. Even though it worked fine last time. Now they cannot review until MONDAY!!!! Leaving me without grocery money and I honestly have no hope of resolution as they have no support on weekends. Chat bot does not count as helpful! Apparently etransferring to myself from my own account is not allowed any more! Thanks Koho. Now I am screwed. Oh my gosh, update. It is nomal for etransfer to take this long for them. Oh, and do I mind waiting for it to deposit, maybe by this afternoon? So yeah agents apparently work weekends. They just dont do anything!

Very Strange Company they are

Very Strange Company they are. There is more than enough in my spendable and for some reason cannot make any purchases and of course they are gone for the day. While, real credit card companies through an established bank have call centers you can all 24/7

Everything was great until it wasn鈥檛

Everything was great until it wasn鈥檛.

What I loved:
- add funds in literally seconds
- cash round up / cash back rewards
- the insights and data available
- cover program

What I hated:
- physical card was flimsy. So much so it lasted 3 days before the chip being defective.
- Koho makes themselves 100% unavailable and when you use the 鈥渟upport chat function鈥 you鈥檒l be chatting with a bot who will not only share contradictory and confusing information, but it鈥檒l gas light you and say they鈥檙e a human.
- I understand Canada post is on strike, but Koho has zero intention to amend their business operations and basically said 鈥渢oo bad, so sad鈥 and acted as if the strike would be a few days or weeks. The Canada Post strike will run well into the New Year, some reports suggesting even the spring.
- after spending 5 hours trying to get to talk to a human, I finally did and while glazing over many of the crucial points in my complaint email, he had the audacity to say 鈥渉ere is $10 for a coffee鈥.
Businesses who create barriers to accessing assistance have no place in this world anymore. Not everything fits into their little predetermined algorithm. I will work relentlessly to share my experience because I wouldn鈥檛 want anyone else to go through the efforts of moving their banking and auto deposit only to have to up and leave a month later.

A Final Notice Letter About Your inesistent costumer service

A Final Notice Letter About Your Impeccable Support System

Dear KOHO Support Team (or whoever *might* actually read this),

Thank you for your automated and exceptionally unhelpful response advising me to 鈥渙pen a conversation through our in-app chat.鈥 It鈥檚 a brilliant suggestion鈥攅xcept for one minor detail: the app is inaccessible to me because your institution decided to close my account. This ingenious setup essentially locks me out of any way to communicate with you.

Your circular approach to customer support is truly inspiring. Let me get this straight:

1. You shut down my account without explanation.
2. You prevent access to my funds.
3. You block my ability to use the app.
4. You then suggest I contact you *through* the app I can鈥檛 access.

It鈥檚 an unparalleled demonstration of customer service innovation鈥攍eaving your clients stranded in a Kafkaesque nightmare of inefficiency.

As a financial institution entrusted with safeguarding people鈥檚 money, your system is setting a new benchmark in how *not* to handle basic support.

Please consider this email as my FINAL NOTICE to resolve this situation immediately. I expect clear communication on how you plan to transfer my funds and provide access to my account history, or alternatively, escalate this issue to someone who can understand the gravity of the situation.

I eagerly await your next automated message or (dare I hope?) a genuine human response.

Buyer Beware! 0 Security for your deposited funds

I had multiple fraudulent charges to 3 of my cc's. I was actually notified by one of my other card providers of the unusual activity. I immediately cancelled or locked all of my cards. I proceeded to contact customer support and file a claim. The reply from Koho was weak and generic and basically washed their hands of it. I provided proof that the card was used in Toronto mid morning for an amount greater than available and was declined. Same card used a short while later east of Montreal. I was working that day in Northern Alberta. Despite proof of my whereabouts, the other purchase on this card and the multiple other fraudulent charges on that day, Koho continues to wash their hands of it and provide no assistance in recovering these seemingly stolen funds. I like the idea of the credit building tools, but I've never come across a financial institute so unwilling to help their customers in time of need. I would be terrified to deposit anymore money into this card. Too risky
