I've had to use Start Rescue twice now. Once about 8 years ago, once earlier in January with a dead battery. The app is easy to use and actually works. Their people kept me in touch about arrival of recovery, and chased up a slight delay without me having to ask.

My son spun his car on the ice and ended up on the verge, no damage to the car but got beached and couldn't move. Start Rescue failed to send recovery, someone else then crashed into his car 5 hours later and wrote it off. Police had my sons damaged car recovered and I had to pay £320 to get the car back. Start Rescue did get the var from the pound to the garage. Now they are denying my son ever called them, we have a call log and are now escalating. They passed my son onto a third party who deal with accident recovery Koudos? Who then failed to recover the car either. Total shambles resulting in my son losing his beloved Mk3 Ford Fiesta. He can't claim on the insurance as car is only worth £2500, he's 19 and only recently passed his test so will be crucified if he claims. Total breach of Start Rescues contract failing to recover an undamaged customers car. Never using these clowns again and contacting my solicitor.

I don't usually write reviews but I'm so impressed with start rescue. Been signed up for a few years but only called for the first time this week when my car wouldn't start outside the supermarket. A breakdown vehicle arrived within 45 mins (even though it was 8.30pm when I called) and established the problem, then start rescue allowed me to arrange free recovery to a local garage the following day. All in all, a great experience.

My car broke down in a Fife country road on 10th Dec contacted Start Rescue who immediately sent a breakdown contractor who delivered car and myself to garage near where I was staying. A month later the car was still not repaired, been brushed off with all sorts of excuses. Contacted Start Rescue and asked if car could be delivered to a recommended garage in Glasgow. They agreed to do this without any issues or problems Thankfully I didn't need it as car was completed the next day . However the fact they agreed to the move was such a relief and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I got a puncture about 4pm on Friday 10th January. It was about a mile from home and freezing so I went home and made the call. Start rescue were efficient from beginning to end. I was given a timescale which was kept to and then a call when they were close. Work done quickly by the very helpful Sophie and I was given clear advice - strongly recommend.

I’m a disabled driver and often travel solo.

I have been a member of Start Rescue for some time and they have been so very reliable. Must if the time the problem has been fixed on the roadside and I’ve been back in the road in short time.

Only once was I needing to be transported back home. It was over an hours drive and the mechanic and I had a great chat.

Very impressed with the service. Wholeheartedly recommend.

My car broke down at 10 am in a space of under 2 hours my car was back at home safe and sound
The lady at the call center kathleen was very proficient and within no more than 5 minutes arranged for a truck to pick my car .
the truck turned up within an hour
the driver mechanic was extremely helpful and kind
I would definitely recommend start rescue

This is my 4th time using Start Rescue recovery services, and the service was exceptional as always! On our way back from holiday I drove over a large pothole, I got out and checked my tyres and everything seemed okay so we carried on. Joined the motorway and 5 minutes in my tyre blew, this was a scary experience but we were back on the road within an hour. I also received a call every 10 minutes from employees at Start Rescue to make sure we were okay, due to the danger of the situation. The gentleman changed and replaced my tyre and was super friendly, he also waited for us to rejoin the motorway before setting off himself. I really cannot fault Start Rescue, their service is brilliant and I recommend this company 1000% . Thank you!

Absolutely disgusting service - do not use this company if you care about your family!

They left my daughter stranded and alone in the dark and cold on a winters day after a 70mph motorway collision on the M6 near Carlisle. She was hundreds of miles from home, in shock, crying, and they just fobbed her off over several phone calls, the content of which kept changing from operator to operator. She was a lone female, clearly in distress, and they treated her like dirt.

There is not enough room to note all the disinformation, wrong advice, and sometimes just blatant lies they told her about what she was covered for.

Start Rescue advertise a three star policy on their web site, but many of the features are worthless when you try to use them, they spout some small pint which you cant see - just try clicking the little "?" mark beside the wording - nothing comes up.

In this case she was on the phone to them on 4/5 occasions, and clearly distraught after her near fatal accident. The police removed her car to a holding yard as they would not wait for Start rescue due to the time they quoted, they were then supposed to collect her and the car form the yard - this never happened, despite being told it would - twice. They then told her she was too far away to recover, so get a train home! (as a lone female, in the dark, in a strange place, on her own, after a 70mph car crash!) This was after almost 3 hours of her waiting for them to turn up!

She got home shaken and in tears, I complained and complained, I'm still waiting for the call "customer excuses" said they would give me this afternoon. So despite being on the phone to them today for over 2 hours, 4 calls, and at least 6 operators we still do not have her car back - the one which should have been recovered yesterday, and then promised it would be today, and then I'm told it could be another 3/5 days!!

Yes, this is a rant, and quite rightly so, all I get are apologies and excuses about what is covered, just what kind of trouble do you have to be in to use the £500 travel expenses or overnight accommodation??

They should have authorised a taxi to take the poor girl home, but instead she had to get two taxis - which they said they would not pay for, and two trains to get home in a right state - what is the point of buying breakdown recovery insurance if your treated like dirt and don't get any of the benefits of it??

I had to call someone on a very frosty day and was impressed with how quickly someone arrived, around 30-45 mins. My car decided to breakdown on my mother's drive so I was warm and safe and not on a roadside, so had expected a much longer wait.
The problem was quickly solved and the technician was friendly, polite and knowledgeable.
This is the first time I've had to call for assistance and the whole process was easy and straightforward. I used the app. I would definitely recommend.
