The night before Thanksgiving, we opened our bench and found significant damage. I was so worried because even though we received our table months prior, we hadn’t needed the bench and had not opened the box. I was so bummed that not only would we not have it for Thanksgiving, but the chances of receiving a replacement before Christmas was probably slim. Kevin of the warranty team immediately requested for a replacement bench to be shipped to me. Much to my surprise we got it 2 days before Christmas! I absolutely love my Transformer Table (and bench) and TT’s customer service has been out of this world!

I was getting frustrated as I couldn’t reach anyone directly for days (it is the holiday season) to sort out my issue. Today I reached Kane and he was awesome - very friendly, patient and handled my shipping issue, sent me confirmation via email right away and assured me I would be contacted if anything else was needed. Thank you so much!!
There was a misunderstanding with the Sales Director which led to me purchasing a coffee table that did not match my Costco Transformer Table. Thankfully, Kevin from the warranty team was able to clarify the colors and swiftly organize an exchange in products.
Great warranty, one of the benches came damaged and they made it very easy to claim the warranty and Sergio made a quick decision to send another bench to replace. Thank you for great customer service and happy holidays

Nightmare
Nightmare. I feel I've been had in so, so many ways. No more Kickstarter for me. So much for my due diligence, reading all the sources that talked this company and this table up. I was an early investor -- and yet, just received the table less than a week ago. Quality control? NOT in their vocabulary. I don't care that it was made in VN, not in Canada as stated, or that it was advertised as seating up to 18 - but now that's been down to 12. I can handle those things. What I can't handle is that (1) the pins that the leaves are to join in to are misaligned. This means it's impossible to put the leaves in. Understand that therefore not a single leaf will work, which means they are useless. Then there are the clips underneath that are also misaligned. Then there is the huge gouge out of the side of the table, so anyone putting their hand there will get a splinter, not to mention it's ugly. Then there's the fact that the leaves are a totally different color than the table itself - very noticeable. So, as I said, quality control is not in their vocabulary. I wish I'd seen Trustpilot before I spent what for me is a huge, huge sum of money. Stupid me - I had always thought Canadians were more honest than Americans. Turns out a lot of them are just as corrupt. So far, I pretty much feel I've been had. So far, no response to my email to them.....

I saw this company on Dragons Den…
I saw this company on Dragons Den Canada and was curious about their Tables.
I purchased their Transformer Dining Set in birch gray a few weeks and thankfully received it in one piece. Btw, their delivery is curbside which isn't the best. I opened it up and assembled it and it looks great, pretty versatile. Although I am not extremely satisfied with the colour I purchased, the gray finish has texture on it and didn't expect that at all, I can say that it fits my needs.
I was a bit sceptical purchasing this product because of other reviews from other customers but I still purchased it because they offer a 2 year warranty. I also made sure to call them to place the order. No matter what happens, I can get it fixed.
When I called them, I stressed the fact about the negative reviews and they were able to explain to me that because of their recent success, they have had alote more orders than expected. As an entrepreneur myself, I can understand, its not always easy to scale up a business.
They're a Start-up company based form my hometown, I wish this company the best. They have very cool products, and they're Canadian :).

Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company! They will only respond to you when you are looking to buy their product. You get charged right away and then they ignore your calls and emails. They still haven't shipped the order or even given an update after 2 months. They'll take your money and run away with it.
Also on the front page of their website they proudly say the table is "Canadian Made", but when you dig into their FAQ, they work with Vietnamese manufacturers. They also tout their Dragon's Den appearance, but the Dragons did not go through with the deal after looking into the company more carefully after the show ended.

Terrible Ethics - stay clear of this company
I have never dealt with a company that demonstrates as poor ethics as Transformer Table.
Initially, both they and their product seemed great. Within a few months of receiving my product, however, the wood warped and cracked and my table and bench became unusable. The panels(leafs) warped and curled up and no longer were able to connect with each other because the pegs and holes were no longer aligned. When looking at the table from the side, the curling up of the panels is quite visible. When looking at the table from above, you can see right through it from the large gaps between the panels. Not only this, but my panels have developed large cracks in them (some are more than a foot long). This table and bench were a huge investment and were something that I expected to last for a lifetime, but they didn't even hold up for six months.
Upon having this happen to my table, I began watching their reviews online and on their Facebook page. I was alarmed when I realized that there were many, many others who were having the same issues as I was. The Transformer Table team, however, was deleting such comments with great regularity. They carefully curate their comments to make it look like all of their customers are happy. The comments on Kickstarter, which they cannot delete, tell quite a different story. I questioned the company on the deletion of reviews of unsatisfied customers and was told that they do not and cannot delete reviews off their website. A few weeks later, they told me that that they have a staff member whose role is to delete negative comments. Both statements cannot be true. I don't love dealing with a company that lies.
The company is very slow to reply to communication post-purchase. They initially told me they would replace my warped panels. They assured me that the new panels would be sent right away. They were never sent. I was not informed of this until I inquired, six weeks later, about the whereabouts of my replacement panels. In response, they told me they did not and would not send any replacement panels. They informed me that they would instead provide a partial refund. I was not satisfied with that. It was a very expensive table that didn't work, and the company claims they have a two-year warranty. A partial refund is not consistent with expectations for a two-year warranty. Most users online were sharing that the calculation for a partial refund was by assigning a value to each part of the table, and depending on which parts didn't work, they would calculate the refund cost. This doesn't make sense. Why would they reimburse for pieces that are defective when having defective pieces renders the entire piece of furniture unable to meet its intended function? They told me that I could ship the table back to them - at my own cost (pallet shipping across the country at my cost? Add cost to a purchase that already was a total fiscal loss?). Upon shipping it back to them, they would deduct a large sum of my purchase price and then see about issuing a refund for the remainder of the purchase (most of which would have already been spent on shipping the table back to the them) or about fixing the product at that time (which is odd because they already told me that they would not fix it, but now they're saying that if I pay to send it to them then they might consider it?).
For a company that claims that they have a two-year warranty, I don't understand how I managed to get scammed and lose out on my investment and be left with an unusable table. Stay away from this company. The product is nice for the first month or two, and then the nightmare begins.

Standards have improved from Gen 1 to Gen 4.
Update on 8/5/24:
The company offered to replace the generation 1 transformer table, bench and coffee table with their latest generation 4 series. I'm must say their quality and standards have vastly improved. The metal parts are now rust free and glide smoothly. The leaves fit nicely. The wood is nicely finished without scratches. The bottom now come with studs for better movement. It came with a touchup kit. Love the new coffee table design the most. The only down side is you have the assemble the coffee table yourself like ikea furniture. Overall, the standards are now much better.

I bought an ultimate set comprising of a table and two benches. When the items arrived on 26/12/18, the following issues were encountered:
1) The hooks on the bench leaf panels were all rusty, all of them! Because of the rust, I can't lock the panels.
2) One of the bench panel leaf and one of the table panel leaf can't fit with other pieces because the pegs were off by about 2mm. This renders those panels unusable.
3) There were scratch marks all over the 2 benches. The bottom of the benches were heavily scratched. Because the benches doesn't come with studs. So when you move it, it has to scratch the bottom. It came scratched. The bench is so heavy. How can it come without studs. Without it, there is full friction between the wood and my tiled floor. If one has a carpet floor, it is definitely unmovable.
4) One of the benches cannot close properly. The rail mechanism is off. When I close it, one side will close but the other side will leave a 2mm gap because the two pieces are slightly slanted.
5) There were areas where the finishing lacquer did not cover the surface. For this issue, they sent a microscopic bottle of varnish of about 1-2ml.
After raising the issue on 26th Dec 2018 and 31 emails later, no resolution has been obtained. Only 1 tiny bottle of varnish came by mail. I had repeatedly asked for a replacement bench and kept emailing them. Initially, they promised to ship a replacement bench by Feb 2019. However, no news was heard. Come May 2019, I realised from other negative reviews and complaints that they can never compensate me with a good bench. Thus, I compromised and formally asked for a 50% refund. The staff only said they have forwarded the request to senior management but no news was heard after that. Their senior management is just trying to avoid the issue by ignoring my complaint. Richard only gave vague answers and never address our issue or promise and replacement or refund.
There are still kickstarter backers who have yet to receive their tables and benches. Yet, they are still openly selling the items online. They collected money and then delay the shipment. I alone waited 7 months beyond the expected delivery date on kickstarter before getting this poorly crafted item. The absolute irony is: The item has a QC sticker on it.
If you think this is made in Canada like what the website says, no, this item is made in Vietnam or China, not Canada. You have been deceived.
Please do not buy their product.

Hi please do not purchase this product.
Hi please do not purchase this product.
They have been removing negative reviews of them on Facebook. Mine was removed multiple times. Now they had even blocked me from leaving any comments. Perhaps that is how they get people to think they are still 5 star rated company.
Ordered a set, to be sent to Singapore. However what I received was an unfinished product. The wood did not have pegs, peg holes, nor any secure clips.
I wrote to Transformer table on 30th April 2019 with pictures detailing the extent of the problem, of which I got a reply on 2nd May 2019 that stated, they "deeply apologize", and "That definitely missed our quality control." And that they will send "new parts and panels as soon as possible".
I told them the parts I required on 2nd May 2019 and then, it went downhill from there.
I had not received ANY reply till 14th May 2019 that stated a cookie cutter reply that "hardwood furniture adapts to its new environment (just like hardwood flooring). We have seen this situation occur with certain of our customers".
See. The problem is. That is not the issue I am facing. I received subpar, dismal, unfinished product. And they did not address that.
So then MULTIPLE (till date 7) of my repeated reviews on Transformer Table Facebook page has been removed. This is my 8th. I suppose it has to do with the fact that Transformer table indicated to me that " Word to mouth is an important part of our business and it starts with customers like you.". So perhaps they did not wish for a post like mine, to influence other consumers.
So I continued following up and on the 16th may 2019, I received an email that stated "We are working on getting you replacement panels as soon as possible, much sooner than that hopefully".
Then it was silence, till 29th May 2019 where I received the ludicrous reply, requesting if I could
"consider a partial refund and keep the product as is? What would be a fair number to you? Please let us know so we can explore all the options and come to a final decision with your order.
You are located in Singapore and we need to consider all the options before reshipping new replacements parts."
AMAZING.
See Transformer Table, please have a look at the quality of the products you sent. It was clearly a mistake on your part.
It's amazing how it went from, "we will send you all the replacement parts you require", to "can you consider partial refund and keep the table as it is".
Please have a look at all the pictures I have sent again and ask yourself, if this was sent to you, would you accept it.
Quality is appalling and I cant wait for it to be out of my home. I cant even use the table now.
So I requested for full refund and was told on 31st may 2019 that higher management will reply me. Since then, I had received no reply
