Networking Event: Fossil-free cities - Blending public and private expertise & finance to implement SECAPs

The Covenant of Mayors is hosting an in-person event on 21 January 2025, highlighting how cities are tackling fossil fuel dependence through innovative collaborations and projects.

The Covenant of Mayors Europe is hosting an in-person event to showcase how cities are tackling their dependence on fossil fuels through innovative partnerships and projects in areas like street lighting, housing, and district heating & cooling.

Co-organised with the Smart EPC project (Horizon 2020) and the Smart Cities Marketplace, this event offers a unique platform for cities, private investors, companies, and financing institutions to come together and share insights, tools, and methodologies.

Participants will explore inspirational case studies demonstrating how cities are achieving climate neutrality in public lighting, housing, and district energy systems through collaboration with private-sector partners. The event will also include hands-on trainings, offering practical methodologies, frameworks, and tools to support the implementation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs).

In addition, the event offers valuable networking opportunities, enabling attendees to engage with peers, private-sector experts, and representatives from public institutions, fostering the exchange of diverse approaches to achieving fossil-free cities.
