Two weeks ago, Ohio State fans feared their season was over after another loss to Michigan. But now, hope is back.
“When they play like that, Ohio State is the favorite to win the National Championship,” said former Alabama Heisman winner and National Champion Mark Ingram II on this week’s edition of "The Triple Option".
“That defense has been strong all season long. The issue was the offense’s inconsistency, but they came out aggressive. That’s the team we’ve been waiting for all year,” Ingram added.
Ohio State responded in dominant fashion, scoring on their first three drives against Tennessee and cruising to a 42-17 victory. Freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith had a standout performance, hauling in six catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns.
“The creativity was off the chain, the way they were motioning and shifting,” observed former Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer. “Ohio State had a chance to redeem themselves, and it was different in Columbus.”
Next up, the Buckeyes face undefeated Oregon, a team that narrowly defeated them 32-31 earlier this season. “With the talent they have on that roster, Ohio State is favored to win against a team that beat them,” Meyer noted, pointing out that the Buckeyes are favored by 1.5 points by BetMGM.
It wasn’t all football on this week’s episode of The Triple Option—the guys were also joined by actor and comedian Joel McHale.
