I am Associate Professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Bologna, within the Department of Interpreting and Translation, where I also serve on the Board of the PhD programme in Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies. After completing my Master’s in Translation at the University of Bologna, I spent a few years working as a freelance translator and obtained a PhD at the University of Naples Federico II.

Throughout my career, I have made it a point to maintain strong ties with the translation world, whether through my research, teaching, and outreach efforts. My main research focus is on corpus-based translation studies, both descriptive and applied, with a specific interest in how corpora can inform research on translated language and enhance translation teaching. I have (co-)authored over 40 publications on these topics, including journal articles, special issues and an edited volume. I recently took part in the UPSKILLS project, an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership aiming to adapt linguistics and translation curricula to the ever-evolving demands of the language industry. Since 2021 I have been the coordinator of the Master’s in Specialized Translation of the University of Bologna, where I have contributed to setting up a new curriculum on Translation and Technology. I am also an active member of the Terminology and Computer-Assisted Translation center, which regularly organizes lifelong learning courses for professional translators and interpreters. I am the Principal Investigator of the Italian national project UNITE, "Universally Inclusive Technologies to practice English".
