Pilar Sánchez Gijón is a full professor in the Department of Translation and Interpreting and East Asian Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She holds a Ph.D. in Translation Theory from the UAB (2003) and a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting, specialising in German, from the UAB (1997). She is a sworn translator from German into Spanish. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on translation technology, terminology management, post-editing and translation project management and quality. Since 2001, she has been the director of the Masters in Tradumàtica in various editions. From 2014 to 2017 she was Head of the Department of Translation and Interpreting and East Asian Studies, and from 2019 to 2024 she was Academic Secretary and Vice-Dean of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies. She has led or is leading some research or training projects such as LT-LiDER: Language and Translation - Literacy in Digital Environments and Resources (Erasmus+, 2023-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000161531, 2023-2026), Describing Post-Editese in Machine Translation (Ministerio de Ciéncia, Innovación e Universidades, PID2019-108650RB-I00, 2020-2024) and MultiTraiNMT: Machine Translation Training for Multilingual Citizens (Erasmus +, 2019-1-ES01-KA203-064245, 2019-2022). She has contributed to several undergraduate and masters curriculum reviews in translation and interpreting. She has published extensively in leading journals and monographs on topics such as machine translation, post-editing, translation technologies and applied terminology. Since 2015 she has also been editor-in-chief of Revista Tradumàtica on translation technologies.
