Optum mail order service sucks!

Just started my Medicare prescription plan with UnitedHealthcare and had a new prescription submitted to Optum mail order for Ozempic.  Previously I’ve had a plan that included mail order service with CVS Caremark and have not had an issue getting my Ozempic prescription filled.  However Optum contacted me and indicated that they could not fill my Ozempic prescription due to an availability issue and had no idea when this issue would be resolved.  They advised me to contact another pharmacy and request that my prescription be transferred.  So the next day I visited my local CVS pharmacy and initiated the transfer.  However Optum was not helpful and actually removed my prescription from their system.  So had my doctor submit a new prescription to CVS and they were able to fill it the next day.  Not sure what is going on at Optum mail order but the Ozempic shortage ended a long time ago!  Makes me wonder if they are purposely not filling Ozempic due to other considerations like their cost reimbursement.  At any rate I am done with Optum mail service and will now direct my doctors to send my prescriptions to my local CVS pharmacy.
