ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE NAVIGATING AARP'S WEB SITE?

I am having trouble navigating the web site.

When I am on a discussion board and want to use the drop down box to click on the COMMUNITY tab again, the drop down box will not drop down.

If I then go to MY PROFILE first, then the drop down box is operational again.

This same thing happens when I am on a discussion board and attempt the click on the three line MENU... it is not operational.

But if I first go My Profile or My Settings Or Guidelines, then the three line MENU is operational again.

Weird.

It has been like that for several days.

Oct 08 2023...Same Ol' Same Ol'...Menu not working, Pull Downs not working...

...Maybe web browser is being phased out like Comments on articles...only access will be via a SocialMedia account...today's SocialMedia is way too antisocial for me.

...Shut down the Politics and Society message board because of participant misbehavior, but require a social media account for access...duplicitous irony.

Going to Members area, I cannot download or view the Magazines or Bulletins in Chrome, just get a ghosted screen with spinning Cheerio wheel.

I believe the problems have been fixed. When I went to Community I was able to click on the X for the top banner and it closed. I was also able to open the MENU.

Anyboby else unable to login yesterday, Sep. 29, 2023?  Seems AARP's techies have lost sight of the fact that even an hour of unavailability in their world is a whole day in a client's world.  An old thread has been revived in the General Help section that parallels this one.  Maybe somebody should email the links to @Underbat to monitor for status updates.

...BTW, pulldowns and MENU still not working.

Yes, the very top banner is inactive. I cannot use the drop-down next to my name, the Menu does nothing, and you cannot close the 'Sign up for AARP's twice-monthly Travel newsletter to plan trips with confidence.' Yesterday it was elongated images. I've noticed, though, the loading on the Rewards page no longer lags, it's faster, and you can tell the tiles are different. Seems most websites are making changes right now.

@AARPJanelleM,

Please get in touch with @Underbat as they have been given more than one additional report relating to a similar issue. @Underbat has escalated the issue.

What is happening with my computer...iMac with latest OS update, Firefox as browser with latest update is as follows:

The drop down boxes are inoperable when I am in a forum. This includes the drop down box next to my name (once signed in) and the drop down box labeled menu. If I go to the MY PROFILE---MY SETTINGS---GUIDELINES line and click on one of those, then FROM ONE OF THOSE, the drop down boxes previously mentioned inoperable are again operable.

But, when I am in the forums, those drop down boxes again become inoperable....every time. This is a relatively recent event.

@nctarheel Yes, we are aware of the drop down menu issue and our team is working to get it resolved as soon as possible!

Yeah @nctarheel ,

The MENU button works, but it won't process my login from Linux devices.

I  can login, but the MENU button does not work on Windows devices.

Dropdowns also unavailable.

...OMG...Dropdowns working on the Help Page....Ironic or Suspicious?

I just tried opening AARP and the Community on Edge, Chrome and Firefox. I see what you are talking about, I had problems on all three.

Hello @nctarheel . It seems they are quite eager to convert everything to AI right now. What's the rush? I mean, it's happening universally with Google, Facebook, X, etc... You can tell there are changes being made, and we'll just never know what those changes actually are. The lag is significant, and it's quite noticeable things just aren't working as they should. Anyway, I usually go to DownDetector to check on website status', this week Google was in the red with high peaks of issues. Speaking of 'X' (formerly known as, 'Twitter'), perhaps included in these changes is the removal of the little birdy 🐦, replacing the icon with an 'X.' Hopefully this gets remedied soon for a more enjoyable online experience. 🙂
