The DataPorts project, funded by Horizon 2020, focused on creating smarter, more interconnected ports of the future. It developed a secure data platform for seaports, enabling efficient data management and data sharing among various stakeholders, such as port authorities, logistics companies, and carriers. By fostering a trusted environment for data exchange, the project sought to overcome fragmented data silos, improving port operations and advancing the concept of cognitive ports. Through the use of AI-driven tools, the DataPorts solution facilitates the automation of container terminals, which in turn will reduce the ship turnaround times. The platform enhances logistics efficiency, optimises supply chains, and reduces emissions, promoting smarter and greener port ecosystems.
