IOS 18.1.1 Digital AV Adaptor Issues (Lightning to HDMI)

I called Apple support yesterday and was on the phone for over 45 minutes, and still all that was done is a diagnostics on my phone as it is hooked to my lightning adaptor. It had to go from support, to tech help, and now to service help. Sent the results of the test to them and have not heard back. Def it is the 18.1.1 !! Apple needs to fix this and give us a clean update to do to fix this!! I will keep you all updated as to what they come up with.

I’m having the same issue with an iPhone 11 just updated to IOS 18.1.1 and now my lightning AV adapter won’t connect to my monitor or TV HDMI ports! It tells me it uses too much power!!

So has anyone come up with a fix on this issue? I am afraid to buy another one, that it won't work either. How to fix this please?

No, probably not…..but….I did originally buy a 3rd party adapter…it never worked for Netflix, so I took it back and bought Apple product. But now after IOS update 18.1.1 phone works with adapter, but

Same problem. I connect to a projector with a Lightening to USB adapter from an iPhone 12. Everything has worked flawlessly for several years. Following the update to iOS 18.1.1 I have a black screen. Audio is passed, but video seems to be blocked or no signal. This is almost certainly the iOS, as it all worked the day prior to the automatic iOS 18.1.1 update.

Details:

• iPhone 12
• Cabled connection, Lightening to USB (high quality non-Apple cable) has worked for years, and has experienced not physical trauma.
• Vankyo projector with USB-in for video mirroring
• Used to project Echelon workouts, but I don't think the app that is projecting matters, as it simply mirrors the phone screen.

I have tried several work-arounds, to no benefit. It seems from this thread that this is a common issue for anyone that uses a Lightening cabled connection.

same here (message is "too much power") with an iphone 13 mini, when I plug it for audio only on my hi-fi.

This happens to me on iPad 9th gen iPad OS 18.1.1. I need help with this!!

UPDATE FROM NITA!!

Apple said to buy the APPLE brand Lightening AV Adaptor and switch it out with the Apple compatible brand I have. I did the Reset Ethernet thing and it still didn't work, so I went to Walmart and bought the APPLE Lightening AV adaptor, and when I hooked it up I got a message that it was downloading in my phone, and WALA!! DONE! It worked! I am all fixed up!! Just buy the Apple made one. 45.00 at Walmart ! Thanks everyone!! Lord Bless! I can finally watch my online Church again on the big screen!!

Unfortunately that is a no go. I have the lightning adapter, purchased at the Apple store locally and it does not work.

After the 18.1.1 update, I can no longer show photos for class presentations with Lightning AV Adaptor. "Accessory requires too much power " is the message.

Before the update, I used this adaptor for years. I really rely on this for teaching.

Anything I can do?

Transfer or Reset iPhone

Reset

Reset Network

the screen will blank twice and restart.

Yes, it's the last update to 18. The HDMI adaptor works fine on another phone running 17.

The same thing happed a few years ago W a major iOS upgrade, took Month or Two for a fix !! Appears to be a low priority for them.

Purchased an Apple Lighting Adaptor for my IPad. It now works for presentations of photos for class.
