The first version of the INFORM Lebanon Subnational Risk Index was developed in 2015 by the Lebanon Joint Analysis Unit, which supported the Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator as a collaboration of humanitarian, development and governmental partners. INFORM Lebanon has since been embedded in regional processes and coordination mechanisms to help all partners quantify and prioritise humanitarian and disaster risks in Lebanon in the context of the regional Syrian Crisis Response. A new version was developed in 2024 by the Lebanese Disaster Risk Management Unit and the National Center for Natural Hazards and Early Warning, part of the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon (CNRS-L). The 2024 index update built from the 2015 first model by adding more recent and granular data, with a priority for datasets specific to Lebanon and published by national sources. This work was supported by MapAction and CMCC (Centro euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici).
