National Inspectorates - Slovenia

The responsibility for enforcement of REACH and CLP in Slovenia is placed within the Chemicals Office of the Republic of Slovenian (CORS), which is a constituent body within the Ministry of Health. The responsibility for REACH regulation was enacted in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 23/2008 and for CLP Regulation in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 56/2008

Authorities responsible for REACH enforcement

  • Chemicals Office of the Ministry of Health (CORS) – Chemical inspectors are responsible for enforcement of Regulation 1907/2006/EC. The Slovenian REACH Helpdesk is under CORS.
  • Health Inspectorate of the Ministry of Health (HIRS) – responsible for inspection of the implementation of the REACH Regulation in the section relating to restrictions on production, marketing and use of certain dangerous substances, preparations and products in toys and childcare articles, in accordance with Annex XVII.
  • The Labour Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs (LIRS) – conveys inspections of working environment and accessibility of information pursuant to Article 35 and use of substances or preparations in the fifth and sixth paragraph of Article 37 of REACH Regulation.

Authorities responsible for CLP enforcement

Chemicals Office of the Ministry of Health (CORS) – CORS carries out inspections of classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures by primary suppliers placing chemical products on the market. The Slovenian CLP Helpdesk is under the CORS.

Authorities responsible for BPR enforcement

Chemicals Office of the Ministry of Health (CORS) – CORS carries out the inspections of making available on the market and the use of biocidal products as well as the placing on the market of treated articles.

The responsibility for BPR was enacted in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 20/14.

CORS support the BPR stakeholders via the BPR Helpdesk.

Authorities responsible for PIC and POP enforcement

Chemicals Office of the Ministry of Health (CORS) – The responsibility for PIC Regulation was enacted in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 29/2014 and for POP Regulation in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 4/2005.
