The FOLOU project, funded under the Horizon Europe Programme, is launching a Twinning Regions Programme to help European regions and their actors tackle the challenge of food losses in primary production.

Don’t miss the 2024 European Week for Waste Reduction focusing on the issue of food waste. The EWWR is the largest initiative in Europe aimed at raising awareness and promoting sustainable resource and waste management. Whether you’re a local authority, business, association, school, or citizen, get involved and make a difference!

The 2024 edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction

This edition of the EWWR will focus on tackling food waste through workshops, inspiring initiatives, circular solutions, and educational resources aimed at local authorities, businesses, schools, and citizens. It will take place across Europe from 16 to 24 November. Get involved and register your action by 6 November!

Over 4 million engaged through zero-waste tastings, workshops during 6th edition of Zero Waste Week

Zero Waste Week 2024 saw widespread engagement, with over 185 partners hosting events like tastings, workshops, and masterclasses across nationwide.

Celebrating IDAFLW 2024 in Romania

The fourth edition of IDAFLW was celebrated with several information and educational campaigns aimed at consumers. Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development distributed promotional materials and engaged students in food waste reduction activities at local schools.

Food loss and waste prevention and reduction in cities

On 8 October, CEMAS and EUFIC organised an international event in Valencia, focusing on building capacity for FL&W prevention and reduction in cities, featuring plenary sessions and participatory workshops. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration among European cities to implement effective food loss and waste reduction strategies, supported by EU legislation and practical tools.
