High School Learning with Apple #22: Causation & Prevention

Jennifer Orton (@jorton) and I met at ADE institute in 2023 and have been working on compiling lessons for high school teachers using MacBooks or iPads in class. Jennifer uses iPads, and I use MacBooks, and in our collaboration, we realized that small adjustments can be made to apply the lessons in each environment. Over the next 30 days, we’ll post one lesson idea each day!

Lesson Idea #22: Causation & Prevention

We come into contact with a variety of person safety hazards on a daily basis. This Wellness teacher wanted his students to show the causation and ways to prevent common personal safety hazard.

The students were placed in groups and provided a Keynote template. Each group recorded a video showing each of these hazards using QuickTime and added them to the template. This activity provided an excellent showcase of student engagement in a Wellness class when not playing a sport.

📣 How could you use video recording to engage students in your classroom?

I love that students have the opportunity to create to show their understanding.
