Meet the team behind Archipel, the platform that turns math into an adventure for students

Archipel is a gamified learning platform from France that transforms math education into an interactive adventure for students. The platform adapts to individual learning needs, offering personalised explanations, videos, and vocalised text to support a wide range of learning styles and accessibility requirements.

For teachers, Archipel provides a real-time monitoring tool that tracks each student’s progress, helping educators identify areas where targeted support is needed.

Meet Clémentine Joly

Clémentine is the co-founder and the user experience and interface (UX/UI) designer at Archipel. She has a degree in advertising, and has worked for 10 years as a graphic designer in various sectors, including video games, insurance and retail. The power of images and the hierarchisation of information have always been at the heart of her work, and thus she reoriented herself as a UX Designer. Education has always been her favourite sector, and the new career has enabled her to work with several French companies from the field of education technology (edtech).

What are the biggest challenges in digital education?

Digital education faces several big challenges, including keeping students engaged in a digital setting, personalising learning to meet each student’s unique needs, and providing accessible solutions for all.

Teachers also face the need for effective remote tracking, allowing them to monitor students’ progress in real time.

The education system often struggles with inclusivity. It is essential to ensure that digital tools are accessible to students with disabilities.

What challenges in digital education does your solution address?

Archipel transforms math into an engaging, interactive journey that fosters curiosity and motivation with personalised support for each student.

Through a gamified learning experience, students explore math concepts across different islands, each themed to help make abstract ideas more accessible and enjoyable.

For teachers, we have developed a monitoring tool that allows them to track individual progress, providing valuable insights to offer targeted support.

Our goal is to make maths both approachable and enjoyable, giving students confidence as they build essential skills independently.

We believe that learning math can be an adventure, and with Archipel, we are making it engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for every student.

How can the Accelerator programme support you?

The Accelerator can help us connect with mentors and experts in the European education sector. Access to the latest trends, especially in artificial intelligence (AI) and personalisation, helps us refine Archipel to stay in sync with evolving educational needs. The programme also allows us to gather feedback, share our results, and align Archipel with EU digital education goals.

What are the next steps for your team?

We are preparing to expand into the Belgian market and adapt Archipel for secondary school students. Our goal is to bring Archipel’s benefits to a broader audience. We are also focused on growing our team and establishing partnerships that will support our expansion and help us create new, impactful features.
