Join us on 21 November 2024 for an event dedicated to the findings of the latest annual Employment and Social Developments in Europe Review.
The 2024 edition of the review focuses on a topic high on the new political agenda: social convergence and the role of social investment. The findings of the report show that:
- increasing the supply of housing and improving housing assistance improve affordability, reduce poverty and can help people find better jobs
- social investments and reforms yield higher returns when focused on early stages of citizens' lives
- public funding, particularly through the ESF+, has effectively increased employment by boosting skills development
The event will take place at the Event Lounge in Brussels and online.

Description
Background
The Employment and Social Developments in Europe (ESDE) review is the Commission's flagship analytical report on employment and social affairs, published annually. It provides up-to-date economic analysis and policy recommendations.
The ESDE event is organised as a lead-up to the European Employment and Social Rights Forum that will take place on 5 and 6 March 2025 and will provide a platform to discuss how EU social and employment policies contribute to building a more competitive and fair Europe.
