Description
Digital skills are now essential in many areas of our personal and professional lives, and the EU understands how important the digital transformation is, aiming to ensure all Europeans have the skills and technologies they need to succeed in the digital age by 2030.
The upcoming EAfA webinar will discuss how to ensure apprenticeships keep up with this rapid technological advancement, which is not just affecting how we work but how we learn too. The webinar will be hosted on Microsoft Teams and provide a space to discuss challenges and opportunities brought by the digital transformation and the strong link between digitalisation and apprenticeships.
The webinar will also outline key steps and good practice examples VET providers and companies should consider when integrating digital skills in apprenticeships. The presentation on the upcoming EAfA Toolkit on Digital Skills in Apprenticeships will provide practical steps for integrating digital skills into work-based learning.
Key topics will include:
- an overview of the importance of digital skills looking at current EU initiatives on digital education;
- the background, objectives and structure of the EAfA Toolkit on Digital Skills in Apprenticeships;
- key steps to make the most of the digital transformation through apprenticeships;
- challenges and opportunities from the perspective of key stakeholders (employers, VET providers and apprentices);
- good practice examples of how companies and VET providers have integrated digital skills as a key feature of apprenticeships.
The webinar will feature experts representing the perspective of employers, education and training institutions, as well as apprentices on digital skills in apprenticeships.
Additionally, Anna Barbieri, Team leader for apprenticeships and Erasmus+ at DG EMPL, will set the scene by providing a short overview of the European Commission’s current work on digital skills.
Attend the webinar to gain valuable insights into how digitalisation and apprenticeships can work together and learn how the EAfA toolkit can support VET providers and employers to further engage in digitalisation.
