This 1-day stakeholder workshop on “Making Zero Pollution Integration Across Policies Work” was held on 14 March 2023.
The workshop discussed effective improvements of pollution prevention and reduction. Taking a look at existing initiatives, it considered cross-cutting approaches and fostered an integrated zero pollution philosophy for policy making and implementation.
In addition, the workshop focused on an integrated, cross-cutting consideration of the various environmental challenges: a key question was how water, soil and air can be comprehensively protected from the various stressors through cross-cutting approaches and what enables effective cross-cutting dialogue and cooperation.
This workshop was organised by the European Commission in collaboration with the German Environment Agency (UBA) and involved the European Environmental Protection Agencies Network (EPA Network). It was held in the context of the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform and the Zero Pollution Steering Group of the Member States, in particular the work of the Zero Pollution Flagship 5 on “enforcing zero pollution together”.
A SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) of the zero pollution implementation and enforcement approach was one of the concrete outputs of the workshop.
The one-day workshop was held back-to-back with the meeting of the Zero Pollution Steering Group of the Member States.
The physical part of the event took place at Atelier 29 in Brussels, Belgium. Please see below relevant documents for the event.
