From November 25th to 29th, 2024, EPALE will once again host a European Focus Week. This time it is about adult learning and sustainable development. This week is all about the central question of how adult learning can actively contribute to addressing the global challenges of climate change and environmental degradation. What role do green skills, sustainable agriculture and innovative concepts such as circular tourism play in promoting a more sustainable future?
The focus is on inspiring stories from 10 countries, including several Erasmus+ projects, showing how education and hands-on approaches can help develop solutions to environmental problems. You will learn about topics such as the environmental impact of avocado production, sustainable education and the role of ‘Third Places’ as innovative spaces for collaborative learning and sustainable action.

The European Focus Week (November 25th-29th 2024) hosted by EPALE about "Adult Learning and Sustainable Development" offers an excellent opportunity for a better understanding of the global challenges of the climate change, highlighting the urgency and importance of Environmental Education and Awareness.
Within this framework, our Environmental Course, designed and implemented by highly experienced organizations in the fields of applied scientific research on Environmental Protection and Environmental Education for Students and Educators, is committed to providing teachers and students of all ages with experimental and experiential educational opportunities, educational programs, seminars, practical skills and tools, and thereby enhancing green skills and habits. Our course aims to offer participants complete theoretical and practical training on significant environmental issues. This includes participation in innovative actions and activities that allow a deeper understanding of the causes and nature of environmental threats.
Our training program offers a wide variety of educational content and will be divided into three parts. Two of them will be held online (offering distance learning opportunities for wider participation to interested parties on a European and global level), while the last part will be held on-site in Samos island, Greece.
