Will Ferrell goes full stylist, loves Reese Witherspoon's 'super cute' bangs in You're Cordially Invited (exclusive)

Even Will Ferrell understands the power of great bangs.

In the upcoming Prime Video comedy You’re Cordially Invited (out Jan. 30), the actor plays a widowed father named Jim who discovers that the wedding venue he booked for his beloved daughter Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan) accidentally double-booked another wedding party on the same weekend. Reese Witherspoon stars as adversary Margot, the headstrong sister of the bride (Meredith Hagner) from the opposing wedding party. Though they initially try to co-exist in the tight quarters, a chaotic war ensues between Jim and Margot, who will both stop at nothing to ensure their loved ones get the nuptials of their dreams.

Entertainment Weekly can share an exclusive first look at a scene from the romp above, which sees Margot walk in on the multi-skilled Jim as he does daughter Jenni's hair for the big day. "I didn't realize this was a shared bathroom situation," says Margot, to which Jim replies, "Just finishing up her hair. Happy to work on yours if you'd like; could do a fun little wave or a cute little flip." "Oh, no," says a perplexed Margot. "I'm good." Jim, with the dad jokes, quips, "Okay, well, if you change your mind, we accept walk-ins. We're filling up fast." As Margot turns to leave, Ferrell comes in with top-tier line delivery: "I love your bangs, by the way."

"Aw, thanks," Margot replies.

"Super cute," adds Jim. 

As Margot departs, Jim turns his attention back to Jenni and gabs about a former coworker named Dave, who recently lost 100 pounds. "So I asked him, 'Is it Ozempic?'"

In addition to co-starring, Ferrell and Witherspoon produced the flick via their production companies, Gloria Sanchez Productions and Hello Sunshine, respectively. The comedy, written and directed by Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Neighbors), also features Jack McBrayer and Fortune Feimster as eccentric resort staffers. Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Leanne Morgan, Celia Weston, Jimmy Tatro, and Rory Scovel also star as friends and family of the dual bridal parties.

Ferrell most recently appeared on screen in the documentary Will & Harper, the series The Boys, and the movies Quiz Lady and Barbie, while Witherspoon most recently appeared on the series The Morning Show and the film Your Place or Mine.
