Go to the information desk at the Interpretive Center for any questions and a map to help you hike the gorge! We went to every lookout point--it's amazing from every view!

Some steep, long stairs, but the views are absolutely worth it. Everything is also so well-constructed, from the reused tire rubber trails to metal steps.

Do the Gorge Floor. I start at Sliding Rock, cross Bridal Veil & hike toward Hurricane Falls. I avoid the stairs entirely - too crowded. Sliding Rock is steep, but views awesome & it's shaded.

For 3wknds in April & Nov, they increase flow for expert kayakers to paddle. It's fun to watch them run Oceana. Bring binoculars!

They are doing a controlled water release, so no "floor" permits are available at this time. With release of water the falls are how they once were before dams built.

Bring a bathing suit, lunch, sunscreen, change of clothes, and lots of water. If you go for the rock scramble on the way out, be ready -- it's not for the faint of heart!

Beautiful hikes but start early in the day so you have time to get back before dark if going to bottom. Must have permit for that hike but not for north trail

Amusing to watch people gasping for breath on way up stairs. I love to mention the escalator or cable car just to "eff" with them.

If you want a challenge, climb the stairs to the suspension bridge and head down to the end of Hurricane Falls.

Make sure you get a hiking permit from the station if you really want to do exploring, lots of scary signage around the park! I didn't know State Parks were so strict!
