- Washington PostMarch 2, 2013For her 49th birthday on Jan. 17, the first lady had a special menu of fusilli with veal ragu, roasted tile fish with fennel and thyme puree and ricotta cheese mousse with carmelized pear. Read more
- Scott MontgomeryMarch 20, 2013If you're not with group or in need of a table, sit at the bar and let Ringo take care of you. Best bartender/waiter in DC. He knows the menu and the wine list and has NEVER steered us wrong.
- Bitches Who BrunchJuly 20, 2016Authentic, delicious food, only outdone by the welcoming and personalized service found at perhaps the most consistent restaurant I have encountered. Read more
- Watson JonesAugust 23, 2013definitely a "Who's Who" of DC. Sat next to Greg Monroe (former member Georgetown basketball, current Detroit Piston) twice and current Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. food and atmosphere are great
- Pasta: perfect portion (think non-American), excellently cooked (al dente done properly) and exquisite flavour.
- BrandieJanuary 25, 2019Amazing food with an authentic Italian staff. The food and wine list is superb.
- Fr. John TrigilioJune 16, 2012one of my favorite, if not number one, restaurant in America. Place to celebrate, impress, enjoy and have a marvelous meal with family and friends
- 17 ℋumorousMay 8, 2016"My favorite DC restaurant. I once accidentally sat down in the lap of the Archbishop of Canterbury during a Sunday brunch there." 17 Christopher Hitchens
- Gilt CityAugust 17, 2011Maître d 17 Laurent Menoud has been Cafe Milano’s gatekeeper for 14 years. Among the guests he’s seated are Michael Jordan, Renée Zellweger, former vice president Dick Cheney and Pope Benedict XVI.
- Noufa AJune 28, 2019Authentic, delicious food ,for special occasions this is the right place for dinner..
- ToryBurchJune 26, 2013The wine list is great and the pasta is even better. It’s a local favorite for politicians, too.
- Michael ChasenDecember 18, 2012Food is always great and the atmosphere good for work or romance. Order the veal parmesan even though it isn't on the menu.
- Emily KresserJanuary 5, 2011The fusilli w/ Ital sausage and mushrooms melt in your mouth. The organic live oil is some of the best I ever tasted! Nice service, and dressed impeccable too.
- Angelos NMay 20, 2012Expensive, but worth it. Try the steak. And mozzarella with tomatoes for starters. Good wine selection too.
- Desert service was quite good with Italian silverware including real dessert spoons (not tea spoons)! But the dessert itself (creme caramel espresso) was nearly acceptable.
- Thomas FrazierDecember 22, 2013This particular visit, the food wasn't perfect, but the service was exceptional. Would have appreciated a manager inquiring about our status. Pro tip: Don't judge a book by it's cover.
- Perfect way to rescue from my so-so day: Artichoke flavored pasta with braised beef short ribs and truffle mushroom.
- Jackson MartinApril 5, 2013Best Italian food in DC. Excellent service. You will not be unsatisfied. :-)
- good place to start the night. come for dinner and/or drinks. always enjoy people watching and mingling here...steak salad is delicious.
- Delicious black truffle risotto. Sit outside if you can. Winning ambience!
- The steaks at Morton's (next door) are superior, but this place is still tops for wine, service and atmosphere!
- Mike ReidSeptember 8, 2012Food is average. Highly OVERrated. This place is a classic DC power haunt. You go here more to see/be seen vs. any extraordinary meal you might enjoy.
- Jon DarveauApril 9, 2012Good, but may be a bit overrated as far as food goes. The wine list is top notch though as far as Italian wines go.
- Michael ChasenJanuary 3, 2013Bronzino was excellent. Also not on the menu but ask for grilled calamari.
- Once again for special occasions this is the right place for dinner
- Ossobucco was amazing! Now waiting on my dog to give an opinion on the bone (3 or even 4 grrs?)
- Andrew ZuckerOctober 15, 2011Restaurant is too large; too busy. Quality of food and service takes a bit of a backseat to restaurant's obvious desire to pack 'em in. Skip the high priced dishes (veal, truffles) and just have fun.
- Ahmet CinarDecember 20, 2014The environment, food... This place is a classic! Even the first lady says so
- Great food, great cocktails, great people watching! You'll always run into someone you know here!
- Jessica GonzalezMay 13, 2018Nothing is good here. The Carpaccio is supposed to be raw and was cooked and with a horrible taste of tuna (like canned tuna). I ordered veal chop and was over cooked and unsalted.
- I wish their bar-r (Julia) improve her poor service skills. If u are @ the half empty bar it takes 20 min to acknowledge you. you have better chance to get a nice table then get your drinks from her
