Lots of bakery options, very good ready-made meals in the deli section. Much more reasonable prices than Whole Foods up the street.
Huge selection and great amentities (fresh food, cafe seating, walk-in wine cooler), but prices can be steep even for basics.

M Squared Real EstateAugust 15, 2011There has been a Safeway in this location for the past 85 years. Known as the 鈥淪ocial鈥� Safeway because it has long been a hot meeting spot for Washington鈥檚 elite.
The registers cannot ring up alcohol once the clock strikes 10. Ring your liquor up first!
Get a Safeway card and use the "Just For You" deals. I just saved 40% because of it!
Definitely get a "Club Card" you save a ton of $$ every time you go!

Sue XDecember 1, 2016Save yourself a headache and don't border catering with them. I catered sandwich and desert platters for an office party. Not a good experience at all.
Love the deli sandwiches, but the ordering machines are broken like every time I go!
So busy on Saturdays and they never have enough cashiers. The ones working are nice, but usually slow as all get out.
You can always find parking upstairs, without fail no matter the time.

though in an upscale neighborhood, this Safeway has some ghetto staff and your sandwiches can take forever to make! such a shame.
