Ordered through Game website a Lego set which upon reviewing was being sold by a 3rd party through their site. After they took my money and an email received to say the item would be delivered in 5 days there was no more communication. The latest delivery date came and gone but still no new information. Trying to contact someone to speak to other than a chat bot is impossible and they give you the run around. I then sent an email and after 2 days got a reply stating there was a delay on the order but would be dispatched shortly. I waited another 4 days before emailing back and was given the same response. I have now asked for the order to be cancelled as a dispatch date couldn’t be given but then recieved an email stating the payment method was not able to complete successfully and to reorder but they took payment straight away. Luckily I paid through PayPal so looks like I will have to get my cash back that way.

This is not the first issue I’ve had with Game Online, they updated their servers last year which deleted all open orders on a persons account and an email was sent to say the order was cancelled. Since I was told the orders were cancelled, I proceeded to order from another store but they then they took the money out of my account and although sent me the original order, at this point I didn’t want it, and again trying to speak to someone to refund/return or find out why this happened was impossible. I have lost the ability to see what is still preordered on my account and the ability to cancel them.

Absolutely awful customer service.

Really bad service. I pre-ordered a pip boy back in April. In December I contacted customer service on twitter/x to see if it was still an active order as the website had no order information. They told me yes it was all fine. I contacted again last week to ask when my order will be shipped and they told me there was a problem with processing the order and I'll have to place it again. Fed up and won't be ordering from them again.

Ordered pokemon cards - did not notice delivery charge was £19.99 - classed as oversized delivery? As it was pre order i emailed straight away to cancel, but was not allowed to as too late. Parcel arrived as small packet, that fit through letter box. Customer service disgusting and rude. Will never prlurchase from these rip off artists again.

As a first time ordering from GAME.co.uk, it will certainly be my last. I purchase what was described as Spiderman Figures, (S) showing an image of four figures. When my order it arrived it was one figure and when I complained they said look at small print at bottom saying individual. No where was this clear in the heading, and it was sneakily added to the very bottom, so people like me with eye conditions dont even see that. But it gets worse. The figure i got wasnt even in the listing, so they pick them at random and no where does this say that in the listing, so trading standards have now been informed.

Terrible customer service

Online purchased a game on offer for 39.99 and offer ended that same day although my invoice stated 39.99 i was billed 74.99 including delivery. customer services investigated and despite me sending bank statement showing charges and the billed invoice i’m still waiting for the refund of 25.00 which they promised within 3-5 days. it’s almost 2 months since their promise and i’ve heard nothing despite another emailed request.

Pathetic

My partner unfortunately ordered Wonderlands for the X Box for my birthday from Game in the middle of February, we knew it would not arrive till the 25th of March as this was the release date. On that date an email was sent to her stating that the game would arrive till the 28th. This meant that I had lost out of a special release date offer linked to the product. I did not know that she had also been charged £4.99 for the privilege of late delivery. Yes we stay in Scotland near Inverness, but every other company can manage next day delivery to us for free on orders above £40 let alone 5 weeks and for an order of £80 !!
Thankfully my partner has learned her lesson and will never order from this sad excuse for a company again ( their loss as we spend over £400 a year on software), please just order from any supermarket or other online reputable retailer who care about service and their customers.

Worst Customer Service Ever

This is the first time I have left a review on Trust Pilot, as it is the first time I have received such terrible service anywhere. Here's a copy of an e-mail I have sent to Game a few times now:

My son purchased a used copy of the PS4 game "Cyberpunk 2077" from your xxxxxx store (xxxx) at 13:23 23/01/2022) for £14.99 using his Debit Card.

On returning home he tried to load the game on his PlayStation 5, but after 3 hours received an error message that the game could not be loaded. He therefore tried to return the disc today to another of your stores.

He was told that you would have to confirm that the disc did not work before you would issue a refund. When he pointed out that it took 3 hours for him to get the error message, he was again told he would have to wait. He asked if he could leave the game with them to check, but was told he would have to wait.

This game is a 2 disc game which requires the discs to play the game, so he could not have just taken the game home, downloaded it, and returned the disc. I therefore do not understand why this unreasonable condition exists?

I asked if you felt it was an acceptable level of customer service to ask a customer to wait 3 hours in your store while you tested a disc? You have not responded to this.

As an update, this is no longer about looking for a refund as my son accidently left his PlayStation turned on at night with the disc in and when he returned from school the next day, the game had finally downloaded. My son and his friend, who was with him at the time of requesting the initial refund, have reached a conclusion on whether this is an acceptable level of Customer Service and, after years of loyal custom, will not be buying from Game again.

Game have yet to let me know if they feel it is acceptable to ask a customer to wait for 3 hours in their store while they test a disc despite several requests!

Terrible company don't buy from them

Terrible company don't buy from them. I purchased a used computer Game from Game today. I then found the the same game £8 cheaper at CEX. When I requested a refund they offered a credit note or an exchange for the same item.They will not give you your money back even though you my change your mind regarding the purchase.

The most appalling customer service I…

The most appalling customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered a Christmas present for my grandson last week, for some unknown reason, DPD delivered the item to the wrong address, retrieved it from the wrong address, but instead of redelivering the item to me, they returned it back to Game. I spoke to a customer service agent via their appalling outdated webchat service, and was informed that a replacement would be sent out immediately and in time for christmas. When I did not receive the email confirmation of this happening, I spent hours from the beginning of this week, trying to get through the atrocious webchat system, and when I finally got through yesterday, I was informed that the replacement order I had been promised would be dispatched last week, had not even been raised by the customer service agent, again I was informed that it would be done immediately, there are now two days before Christmas and I have not heard or seen anything from Game, confirming my replacement order has been dispatched and collected by the delivering courier company.
So not only do they have my order, they also have the money I purchased the order with, so I can not even cancel the replacement and purchase the item from another company in time for Christmas.
What hurts the most is that it is a Christmas present for my grandson, and I can already see the disappointment in his face when I have to explain to him what has happened, I can't even tell him when it is likely to arrive, or when Game will refund my money so I can purchase it elsewhere.
I wish I had read the reviews before having anything to do with this Company. They should get no stars at all.

Please don't buy here. Go to Cex or a better retailer

My 14 year old son bought a game only to realise he had the same game for Christmas. He took the sealed, still in the cellophane game back the same day only to be advised that he would only be entitled to a gift card not a refund. To make matters worse, the manager at the Merry Hill branch was so rude to me about it. No apology, just a very patronising response. When I explained that I wished to complain to raise awareness of this policy which is not followed by other businesses so others don't get caught out, his response was 'now you just want to slag us off" How unprofessional. My advice to anyone out there is to buy a game from Argos, Smyths, Cex or anywhere that offers a refund on goods in a saleable condition. In fact when I went to Cex to enquire about the value of the game, they were quite shocked about it as they would give a refund. It's a lot of money for a 14 year old to lose.

I ordered 2 x Nintendo switches was…

I ordered 2 x Nintendo switches was reassured next day delivery, logged into my account today and still my account is still unshipped , I paid for next day delivery and was reassured the items would be sent, with game there is no contact number just a chat and I asked three times for my order to be cancelled and they refused to do this . I asked for a manager to contact me and they refused to do this , PLEASE AVOID GAME online it’s a terrible service and the staff are rude

Reserved a Ps4

Reserved a Ps4, collected it after a discussion about this vs switch. Realised when home not what little one was on about so went to get a refund to be told was exchange or credit note!!!. Shown a sign in store about it that had not been pointed out in the store where I purchased it from.
Chap in store helpful but had to exchange and pay more than elsewhere for a switch. Terrible

0 star experience. Brought a game played it for 15 mins was told I cannot return it. If I returned it on the same day I would have got a refund even if it was opened but 7 days later even though I played it for 15 mins (within 28 day policy) they cannot take it back... RIDICULOUS. They can take it back same day unsealed and give full refund but not after 7 days. SORT IT OUT.

Awful customer service policy when items go missing. Spend your money elsewhere.

Ordered from Game, received tracking which was created but never scanned at the depot. I've managed e-commerce business's for 4 years so can tell when something's gone wrong. 99% of the time this has been missed by warehouse staff on the pickwave so was never packed.

I've been in touch 3 times throughout the last week and each time I have been told to wait 5 working days for the investigation with Hermes to conclude. (I also didn't receive an email to say a ticket had been raised or definitively when they'd have an answer)

To expect customers to wait an additional week on top of the time they've already waited for the package to arrive to even start actioning replacement orders or refunds just isn't on.

Sad to see how fast this business has been going downhill since Mike Ashley took it over.

Disgusted the way they treat there customers they marked a game that was 12 pound got to the till sorry it's 30 our mistake I'm not going to sell it to you for that price so I made a complaint to customer service and they sent me a email yer they was right to do it well 1 that game is no way 30 pound now and 2 no they wasn't right it's there mistake and can't talk to me like well I'm not seeking it to you in a dirty way game has had so much money out of me over the years even got a PS5 and Xbox off them well game no more every one keep away there prices are ridiculous now

only way to deal with game appears to be by posting reviews, we will get in touch no they don't, ignore the consumer rights act ... i have to deal with manufacturer, ignore the 14 day on line purchase cooling off period.

Game stores have always been places…

Game stores have always been places where the staff have been friendly and helpful. I ordered online without issue with a seamless transaction, great feed communications with processing, progress and delivery.
Lots if the peoples reviews are over specific items being hard to source anywhere yet to blame a specific company other then the actually supplier is wrong.
Shop small on the high street because when they are gone you will see true price inflation as the big companies get the monopoly. I bought my last two console from game one at shepherd's Bush and one online and both with no issues.

Xbox Elite controller

After my son had damaged my controller, I went straight onto Game's website to replace it. I noticed online that there were different types and curiosity got the best of me, I decided to purchase the elite controller which had gleaming reviews. On arrival I noticed that although they had additional benefits, they simply weren't suitable. I made the decision to return them in the hope of replacing them with the standard controller that I am accustom to. Upon requesting to return the items I got told if they have been opened and used I couldn't return, even though, these are in immaculate condition only being tested once (which was of course the point I realised they weren't suitable).

Am I wrong in thinking the whole purpose of the returns policy was to confirm if the product was in fact suitable since I had no idea what they even looked like!

Disgusted would be an understatement!

Not aure how but i managed to buy

Not aure how but i managed to buy a disc and digital edition ps5 ( dont ask why both i just need to have then lol )
Delivery was a little pricey, the diwc version took 2 weeks ! Although i think yhats because it was a big drop of ps5s they got so was a big backlog, the digital artived in 4 days !
Also for points transfer go to the chat, may be a little wait but yhey do it straight away, just have your order number and points card ready !

A week on im still to set it up as my room is a mess and i don't want to set up a diamond in a poo

Apart from the alight wait at the start, is all good so thankyou

No Longer a Customer After 13+ Years

I used to be a very Loyal customer to Game, however over the recent years they have gone downhill. The other day I was unable to sign in to place my order on their website. I used the chat function for help, and all the rep said was that I'd have to keep trying or log in to another device and try. She said they did not have the facility to place the order for me, and I did not have another device to try on.

I said if I placed it without logging in would I be able to email in to claim my points and she said no. So unhelpful. I followed up with an official complaint via email which was now about 2-3 weeks ago and they haven't even bothered to reply.

They should be going out of their way to help customers, not have customer going out of their way to place an order with them. I ordered from a different retailer and I will not use Game anymore.

I did not give them 1 star as for many years they were great, but they have also been awful in store as well, giving my Fiance wrong information and telling him a game was not out when in fact it was.
