From start to finish Carolyn went above and beyond to design my perfect kitchen, she listened to all of my needs and helped me achieve everything I wanted. She was friendly and supportive and nothing was too much for her to do, even after I changed my mind on multiple occasions!

I was a bit disappointed with the minimum delivery fee as my nearest store is nearly a mile away. And the only way can get to the store is by bus. I have an arthritic neck and find it difficult to carry things too far. So I chose home delivery for a few basic items. There doesn't appear to be an option to order online, pay and just pick up from customer services. As provided by Argos. This isn't a complaint because I received the orders I placed in good time
But I had been able to just prepay and pick up instead of looking around the store for a long time the experience would have been much better

I'm a volunteer for a local charity.. and accompanied a lady with severe sight issues..
She had already spoken with a staff member yesterday 11th.. whom she said couldn't have been more helpful.. She had discussed perchasing a mirror.
Today we visited the Barnstaple, Devon branch.. where Debbie went above and beyond to help with buying a mirror, a broom, and crocus plants.. Debbie accompanied and assisted us every step of the way,and while I assisted my client to my car, Debbie brought purchases out to us in a trolley. She was genuinely helpful. and sincere with it.

Friendly staff and pick up was easy to sort out. Shame Homebase is closing its always been a great store to deal with and the staff are wonderful too.

The last review I wrote regarding Homebase was about their excellent service regarding buying a kitchen from them. All was well and brilliant until 13th July 2024 when the appliance company used by Homebase was to deliver our appliances. They didn’t deliver ( I have reviews them in a separate review as I’m so unhappy with their service), saying they had a shortage of staff. Roll on to 20th July 2024. Appliance delivery company rearranged delivery for the 20th July 2024. Once again they didn’t deliver but this time said it was because Homebase didn’t pay them for the items.
Getting very fed up with Homebase and ao passing the buck leaving me without an oven or fridge freezer yet again……….

Good service at the store, staff extremely helpful. Achieved promised delivery, notified day and time, advised one hour before delivery. Delivery team, two guys, managed to get a heavy item to the exact place in the house where we needed it.
Extremely satisfied with the product we purchased.

Carolyn helped us to design our new bathroom and showed great patience with us as we kept changing our minds. The products we eventually chose were just what we wanted and looked superb when installed. We are thrilled with the finish. We were fully supported by Carolyn when we found we have overordered and were refunded promptly. Having previously had a kitchen from Homebase, we have no hesitation in recommending them and particularly Carolyn

Just had amazing service at Homebase Barnstaple Devon. As a female doing DIYi I always need some advice, when common sense just isn’t enough. It’s hard to find help in most places nowadays. However, the team at Barnstaple, led by Jim are bang on. Jim was enthusiastic and filled in my knowledge gaps, advising me on best products and other stuff. Suggesting aftercare to prolong shelf- life, and which products. He also cut x7 pieces for my project. So very helpful, and the woodcutting service is free, Highly recommend this store and big shout out to Jim, thank you !

Needed some timber, but couldn't fit 2.4m lengths in the car. An absolute legend by the name of Jim overheard me, told me to grab the wood I needed & helped me cut the wood to the size, saving me a job later on. Problem quickly & easily sorted last minute on a Sunday afternoon just before closing!

Feeling sadly let down! Which is a shame as the the staff that served me couldn't have been more helpful on the day I ordered my kitchen cabinet in Barnstaple. I've waited till 2pm to hear when my delivery would be today and just had a phone call back at 2.40 pm to say they will fill the forms in to head office and I will hear within 48 hours? I've stayed home especially today which was the day the member of staff said my kitchen cabinet would arrive it's also printed on my receipt..
Update: My cabinet arrived this morning! 5.1.24 Thank you to Louise who gave me an explanation on the problem with my delivery and also for the call from Homebase in Barnstaple....

We have recently had a new Kitchen and Utility Room from Homebase, Barnstaple. Top praise has to be to the wonderful Carolyn Smaldon - she went above and beyond to ensure we got the kitchen we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and she was happy to consider our quirky ideas and find a solution to enable them to be incorporated into our design. We are thrilled with our Country Living units and worktops and highly recommend a visit to Carolyn - you won’t be disappointed!!

On arrival in store I was greeted by a very helpful young lady who took my purchase of 40 bags of compost as was told to drive around to the goods in where two members of staff called Jimmy and Brendon loaded all 40 bags onto my tipper truck for me.
