## Remarks
As the base class for all ASP.NET mobile controls, the <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl> class primarily contains style and context information common to all controls. For more information about style and context information, see the <xref:System.Web.UI.WebControls.Style> and <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.Form> classes.
> [!NOTE]
> Because this class derives from the ASP.NET <xref:System.Web.UI.Control> base class, all <xref:System.Web.UI.Control> base class properties, methods, and events are available in each of the mobile controls.

## Remarks
When a form contains navigation elements that activate another form without interaction from the server, it is considered a linked form. There are several criteria for a form to be considered linked. For example, if the following three conditions are met, Form B is considered to be linked to Form A:
- Form A contains a <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.Link> with its destination as Form B.
- Form A does not contain an <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.Form.OnDeactivate%2A> event handler.
- Form B has no <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.Form.OnActivate%2A> event handler.
The base implementation does nothing, but other controls, such as the <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.Link>, override the default implementation.

## Remarks
Unlike the other properties, the <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.BackColor%2A> property is not inherited from its parent. For example, if you set the <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.BackColor%2A> property to cyan on a parent control, a child control will not inherit a background color of cyan; you must explicitly set the child control's <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.BackColor%2A> property to cyan, or you must set the <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.BackColor%2A> property of the parent control and apply the style sheet to the child control. ## Remarks
The <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.GetAttribute%2A> method returns attributes stored in the <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.CustomAttributes%2A> property. If <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.CustomAttributes%2A> is `null`, then <xref:System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobileControl.GetAttribute%2A> will also return `null`.
