Description
The way towards water-resilient Europe goes via capacity building of cities and municipalities in charge of local water management. The Interreg Baltic Sea Region’s programme period 2021 – 2027 focuses strongly on the development of sustainable water management practices in municipalities and cities.
In the Europe Forum 2024, a panel organised by Centrum Balticum will feature representatives from four EU projects and the EU's Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Policy Area Nutri, presenting challenges and solutions to ensure sustainable and diverse water management in the Baltic Sea Region.
The panel will focus on themes such as the effective use of reclaimed water, adapting to seasonal fluctuations in wastewater generation, and implementing nature-based solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change on water management.
The aim is to provide insights and solutions for development of water management processes. The event is a 45-minute panel discussion, which is part of the three-day Europe Forum.
The annual Europe Forum is focusing this year on security issues, which are divided into geopolitical, economic, and sustainability challenges. The on-site audience consists mostly of representatives from the public sector, politicians, and experts.
The discussion will be streamed online, and the online audience includes project partners and stakeholders of related water-themed EU projects.
